Louis Walsh, Nadia Almada and Kelly Holmes all made live appearances to read out the questions for the months of April, June, August respectively. Recorded questions from Bono and The Bear from Bo' Selecta were shown too along with films of Richard and Judy discussing events.

The winners were June Sarpong and Jonathan Ross with points 49 out of 72. David Walliams and Rob Brydon got 43 points and Simon Pegg and Liza Tarbuck got 41.

The programme was repeated on December 29 2004.

In 2005, the Big Fat Quiz of the Year was again shown (on the 26 December) and was again hosted by Jimmy Carr following the same format as the previous episode.

The teams were:

Guest questioners in the studio included Jordan & Peter Andre and David Tennant and there were also recorded questions by several celebrities including Richard and Judy, Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette and Kevin Pietersen.

The winners were Sharon Osbourne & Jonathan Ross with 39 points, making Ross a two time winner. Second place were Denise Van Outen & David Mitchell (33 points), with third being Gordon Ramsay & Rob Brydon (30 points).

In 2006, Jimmy Carr returned for the third show, broadcast on Wednesday December 27.

The three teams were:

Guest questioners in the studio included Boy George, Myleene Klass and Matt Willis and Guy Goma (famous for incorrectly appearing as a guest on BBC News 24). Pre-recorded questions were asked by Sir Ian McKellen, Lily Allen, Courtney Love, Girls Aloud, and Sacha Baron Cohen in his guise as Borat.

Russell Brand and Noel Fielding won with 39 points, after receiving 22 points for answering one question correctly. Jonathan and Cat got 38 while David and Rob came last with 37.

David and Rob appeared to take the quiz rather seriously and behaved as though highly annoyed when Jimmy Carr awarded 22 points to Russell and Noel, feeling that they had not been trying and did not deserve to win.

Russell and Noel were referred to as the 'Goth Detective Team', and joked about how they were going to start a show together. Several references to Camden Market and Camden Lock were made in connection with Russell and Noel. The pair are in fact going on to perform a 'Goth Detectives' themed show for the Teenage Cancer Trust event at the Royal Albert Hall in March of this year, the highlights due to be broadcast by Channel 4.

The programme was repeated on December 28 2006, and December 30/31 2006 on E4 and Channel 4 respectively.
