The Big Broadcast of 1938

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Big Broadcast of 1938 was a Paramount Pictures production directed by Mitchell Leisen and the last in a series of Big Broadcast movies that were variety show anthologies. This film featured the debut of Bob Hope's signature song, Thanks for the Memory, which his character sings as a duet with Shirley Ross.

The film had many other stars of the era, a wide variety of acts ranging from the comedy of W. C. Fields to a powerful performance of Ride of the Valkyries by Metropolitan Opera singer Kirsten Flagstad in full Brunhilde armor and horned helmet.
