[edit] Voice-Over Introduction

[edit] Part One

Splinter: The past is another country. They do things differently there. And yet, it seems that the past lives still, haunting us. But we need not fear the past. It is the future we must fear

[edit] Part Two

Leonardo: Note to self: when Master Splinter tells you not to leave the lair, don't leave the lair. Also, do not, repeat, do not follow Master Splinter through an interdimensional portal to a nexus between multiple worlds. But, if for some dumb reason you have done all that, whatever you do, don't accidentally enter into the Battle Nexus tournament, a competition of the multiverse's most skilled and lethal warriors. And finally, if all that does happen, make sure you don't spend any time in the Pavilion of the Past Champions alone. Trust me on this one. It may just cost you your life.

[edit] Part Three

Ultimate Ninja: I am a great warrior, the Daimyo's son and a ninja of ultimate power. I should be feared and revered. But, I once visited a realm called Earth, where I challenged the warrior known as Leonardo to a mortal duel. I was defeated and worse, humiliated by the appearance of my father, the Daimyo, who dragged me back home. My father is mired in outdated traditions. He believes that warriors should duel only for sport and under the official rules of the Battle Nexus tournament. His tournament. I believe that glory can only be achieved by fighting to the death. That is why I must take the throne from my father, and at the same time, I shall take my revenge on Leonardo. The poison from my dart coarses through his reptilian veins. Leonardo's demise will be my first victory. All shall bow down before me as master of the multiverse.

[edit] Part Four

Drako: Behold the Battle Nexus, the ultimate arena, where warrors from many dimensions come to compete against each other. I, too, spent my youth in such foolish pursuits. I was known and feared throughout the multiverse until I lost to a rat. Now the rat and his brood have returned, inturrupting my schemes for power, but offering opportunities for revenge. Now, while I plot to seize control of the Battle Nexus, my pawn, the Daimyo's son, has poisoned the one called Leonardo. The rat rots in the dungeon, framed for attempting to assassinate the Daimyo. And despite the heroic efforts of the samurai rabbit and the turtle ninja, the Daimyo will soon be dispatched and the power of the Battle Nexus will be mine.

[edit] Summary

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

[edit] Part One

When the Turtles follow Master Splinter into a nexus of dimensions, they are shocked to find Master Splinter is part of a grand tournament. They learn Master Splinter beat the dragon Drako, then survived an ambush from him. They enter the tournament. As they enter the pavilion of past champions, Ultimate Ninja ("Who's turned over a new leaf", as Raph says) shows them the statues of Master Splinter and Master Yoshi. Leo stays behind, unaware of the fact he's about to be killed...

[edit] Part Two

Leo (with the help of Usagi Miyamoto) survives the attack, and the tournament begins. As round two nears its end, Ultimate Ninja was revealed to be faking his innocence, and he is revealed to be the one who ordered the assassins to kill Leo. With some advice from his assistant, who is hidden in a cloak, he fires a poison dart into the arena... right onto Leonardo's shoulder.

[edit] Part Three

As Donatello and Usagi care for Leonardo, the Daimyo ends up being hurt by some assassins, and needs to be cared for... but Splinter was seen at the crime scene and treated a criminal! Dark Assassins start preparing the assassination of the Daimyo. Donatello and Usagi start fighting the Dark Assassins, in an attempt to stop them. Just when it looks like they win, tons more Dark Assassins start appearing. Meanwhile, Michelangelo, Kluh, Gen, and another creature end up being the semifinalists, after Mikey humiliatingly beats Raph. Ultimate Ninja reveals his plans for killing the Daimyo himself and becoming a Daimyo in his father's place. The cloaked figure is revealed to be Drako, who wants revenge on Splinter.

[edit] Part Four

While Raphael and Traximus bust Splinter out of prison, Usagi and Donatello (and later the newly-recovered Leonardo) fend off the last Dark Assassins. The finals begin with Kluh and Michelangelo, but a fight between the greedy Ultimate Ninja and Drako for the War Staff interrupts the finals. Usagi, Traximus, Daimyo, Splinter, Leonardo, Raphael, and Donatello appear at the arena. With Drako's heart of evil, the War Staff opens up a rip in the multiverse. They latch onto the ground in an attempt to survive, and Traximus starts a chain of almost all of the people, ending with Leonardo, Ultimate Ninja, and Drako. Drako and Ultimate Ninja get sucked in the rip, Daimyo stops the rip, and Mikey wins the tournament. Meanwhile, the Triceratons launch a full-scale attack on Earth, due to the fact they believe the Fugitoid is still on that planet.

[edit] Quotes

  • Michelangelo: How about you let me win this thing, and I'll call the other half of that haircut! (Monster tries to hurt Michelangelo)

Michelangelo: Where's your sense of humor?

  • Raphael: Or Splinter? He ain't no criminal! I'm gonna bust him out of there! (Traximus grabs him)

Traximus: Raphael, that is a rash, foolhardy, and extremely dangerous act! (Traximus pauses) Traximus: Count me in.

  • Michelangelo: Yo, ugly! Think we should finish our fight, now?
  • Drako: It's a shame, really, that you didn't take the time to learn about the War Staff. I, on the other hand, have spent years studying its immense power!
  • Michelangelo: You know, where I come from, "puny little runt" is a term of endearment, right Raph, you puny, little runt? (Mike turns to Raph)

Raphael: If you're looking for help from me, you're looking in the wrong place.

  • Usagi: You will never change, Gen.

Gen: Why would I? You don't change perfection!

  • Ultimate Ninja: What? The staff... it betrays me?! (Staff holds back from blasting Drako)
  • Raphael: I have come to speak with the captive.

Guard: By order of the new Daimyo, none shall pass. (Traximus punches the guards from the drapes)

Raphael: *laughs* It's old schtick but it works.

[edit] Miscellanea

  • Ultimate Ninja and Drako don't disappear forever; they come back in season three's Time Travails episode. They appear in five more episodes after that.
  • There is a goof. When the rip opens up, Splinter and Daimyo don't appear to get sucked up at all.
  • Miyamoto Usagi makes his first appearance.
  • Second longest story arc in the series only Turtles in Space is longer.
