The Best of M People is the first greatest hits album released by M People in 1998. It features 17 tracks, 10 top ten hits and 3 brand new songs. Some versions were a limited edition, this included a bonus live enhanced CD which includes eight tracks recorded live at the Later with Jools Holland M People special. The enhanced CD-ROM bit contains pictures, interviews, biographies, a full video of the song "Testify" and excerpts of other videos.

There was also an advanced sampler called Classic available and also a promo containing the same content as the bonus live enhanced CD but with more sound excerpts and full videos.
