The Best Intentions (Swedish: Den goda viljan) is a 1992 film directed by Bille August and written by Ingmar Bergman. It tells the story of Bergman's parents, Erik and Karin (who are renamed Henrik and Anna in the film), and their marriage. The film is a cut-down version of a longer Swedish TV series.
It was the winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1992.
