[edit] Synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The Sultan of Desert Hill finds his jacuzzi suddenly flooding with oil from his oil well and calls the Mario Bros. to come fix the problem. He explains that he gets his jacuzzi water from the nearby oasis, and somehow, the pipes he uses for that have gotten mixed with his oil well. Unbeknownst to either of them, Bowser has sent Wendy and Larry to steal the sultan's oil and use it to power the Doomship. Upon finding out the Mario Bros. have shown up, the Koopa King orders his children to keep them distracted.

Down in the palace basement, Larry uses his wand to transform Wendy into an attractive female human to distract the Mario Bros. with, but he forgets to zap her tail, thus forcing her to try and keep it hidden. Mario falls for the transformed Wendy, who claims herself to be an amateur plumber named Lady Fettuccini Alfredo, but Luigi grows suspicious when he notices her tail. "Lady Fettuccini" then makes Mario bring the Sultan, his unnamed guard, Princess Toadstool, and Toad into a dungeon cell, during which the latter two draw suspicions of their own. Instead of putting the Mario Bros. in the cell too, however, Wendy calls Larry in to change her back, much to Mario's shock. She and Larry then dump the Bros. into the sewers.

But they soon climb back in, and Mario steals Larry's wand while he's not looking and uses it to turn the tables on Wendy by changing Luigi into a reptilian hunk named Kasanova Koopa. As Kasanova Koopa, Luigi tricks Wendy into setting the others free, but his disguise soon fails when Wendy accidentally changes him back. Luigi then lures the Koopalings into a trap Mario and the others have set up. When Bowser sees this, he calls for the Doomship and starts using its afterburners to destroy the palace, but Mario fights back by overloading one of the oil faucets and squirting it at the Doomship, forcing the Koopas to retreat. Afterwards, Luigi uses Larry's wand to restore the palace.

[edit] Trivia/Goofs

  • This episode is briefly mentioned in the Mario Mania Player's Guide, but it mistakenly states that Wendy falls in love with Mario when, in fact, it's the other way around.
  • Most likely as a coincidence, the design of Lady Fettuchini was recycled as a costume in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog episode "Sonic is Running" where Sonic disguises to grab Robotnik's affections while making him lose the election. It should also be noted that the idea of the hero being distracted by a femme fatale working for his arch nemesis was also reused as the plot for the AoSTH episode "Lovesick Sonic".
  • The song featured in this episode, a cover of "Slipin' and Slidin'" by Little Richard, was edited out during syndicated reruns, but is restored in the King Koopa Katastrophe DVD release. There is currently no confirmation if it will be restored on the Shout! Factory DVD set.
