"The Beast Within" is a remix of American pop singer Madonna's controversial 1990 single "Justify My Love". Released as a B-side to that single, The Beast Within is made up of passages from the Book of Revelation combined with sections of "Justify My Love".
"The Beast Within" first garnered media attention early in 1991, when the Simon Wiesenthal Center accused the song of containing anti-semitic lyrics. Madonna denied the accusations, explaining that the song was about love, not hatred.
"The Beast Within" was used as a dancers' interlude during 1993's The Girlie Show Tour. It was used again as the video introduction to 2004's The Re-Invention Tour, and was subsequently included on the live album I'm Going to Tell You a Secret.
