[edit] Biography

The Bank Holidays were conceived by James (Jim) Crombie and Wibekke (Bekk) Reczek whilst holidaying in Norway (on Bekk's grandparents' farm), who several weeks later in London enlisted old school friend Nat Carson to form the band. On their return to Perth they subsequently recruited drummer Stafford (Ian) Chater.

The band played their first gig at The Swan Basement in Fremantle under the name 'Tunnelball', a suggestion from Darren Hanlon. but changed it to The Bank Holidays before their next gig at Perth's Hyde Park Hotel.

In September 2004 the band released their debut recording Good Looks To Camera

In February 2005 the band teamed up with The Panics and undertook a national tour of Australia, with the band releasing their second EP, Day For Night later that year.

The Bank Holidays have also played support gigs for fellow Perth bands such as Little Birdy and The Panda Band and Australian bands such as Lucksmith, Youth Group and Augie March.

At the 2007 WAMi Awards The Bank Holidays walked away with their first WAMington for 'Best Indi Pop Act', with drummer, Ian Chater, having been nominated for 'Best Drummer'.
