The Bad Taste Cru was formed in Omagh, Northern Ireland, in 1995 as a collective of young people wishing to express themselves creatively through DJing, art forms such as graffiti and primarily Breakdance. They are the current UK and Ireland breakdance champions.

Following several formative years of development, the BTC gained recognition both at home and internationally due to their successes at competition level and the community ethos which was forstered through various workshops, activities and charity fundraisers throughout Ireland. As ambitions grew, various members relocated to the UK in search of further education, employment or competition. The majority of the BTC now reside in Newcastle upon Tyne, where they are actively involved in running competitions, promoting social events, teaching workshops and performing.
