[edit] Plot

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The main character, Steven, has recently purchased a new backpack from a neighbor. As Steven is discussing his new acquisition with a friend, Matt, the backpack is suddenly struck by lighting. The backpack then emits a strange fog and Matt's curiosity is aroused enough to look inside. What Matt sees frightens him and he tells Steven not to open it. However, Steven ignores Matt's warning and decides to look at what scared Matt so badly. When he opens the backpack he sees a vortex that leads the underworld. The movie ends when Steven barely escapes the sucking force of the vortex.

[edit] Background

The original idea for the film came about after the backpack that writer and director Steven Dungan used at his school began to fall apart because it was cluttered with books and papers. Other students began commenting that there was "probably a vortex in there".
