The BIG Couch
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A radio show on Mix 94.5, a radio station in Perth, Australia. The show is broadcast most of the year between 4pm and 7pm each weekday and Saturday between 7am and 10am.
The show is hosted by Dean Clairs, Nat Foster and Shane McFarlane, all Perth people. Each day the guys chat about stuff that's in the news and happening in their lives and get Perth listeners involved in the show by listening to their own stories about things that are happening in their own lives.
The show was born out of The Saturday Show, a regular Saturday morning gig that the threesome had on Mix 94.5 for nearly three years prior to their weekday gig. The team were put together by program director Steve Mummery after conducting a search for a team to make a Saturday morning breakfast show. Different combinations of people were trialled over a period of time. Its the only show that Steve has ever put together alone, with the success of the station and its on-air talent being the product of its previous management. Is it Steve's claim to fame? Or does it rate well simply because Perth people are stuck in their ways. Industry sources believe that the station could play ads all day and Perth people would still listen!
Dean Clairs was already on a weekday morning show on the station, Shane McFarlane was taking care of the stations "NightMix Requests" show each weeknight and Nat Foster was working casually at the station covering on air shifts, reception, going out and meeting visitors in the station's street vehicle The Mix Street Cruiser.
