The Atlanta Jewish Times
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Atlanta Jewish Times is a weekly community newspaper serving the Jewish community of Atlanta.
The newspaper began publishing as the Southern Israelite in 1925. In the 1980s it was purchased by Charles "Chuck" Buerger, the owner of the Baltimore Jewish Times. Buerger passed away in 1996, and the paper was taken over by his son Andrew. In 2000 Andrew Buerger sold it, along with The Detroit Jewish News, to Jewish Renaissance Media, [1] which also operates the website Jewish.com.
In 2005 it claimed a readership of 25,000. [2]
As of 2007, Arthur M. Horwitz and Stephen M. Levene were the publishers and Michael Jacobs the Managing Editor.
