The Astro-Zombies is a 1969 science fiction horror film starring John Carradine, Wendell Corey and Tura Satana. It was written, directed and produced by Ted V. Mikels. The plot folows a disgruntled scientist who having been fired by the space agency decides to create a superhuman from the body parts of innocent victims who have been murdered. The creatures however escape and go on a rampage.
The low budget film has been much ridiculed but has gained some cult status. A sequel was released in 2002, Mark of the Astro-Zombies, also starring Tura Satana. The film also served as the inspiration for a Psychobilly band and the Misfits song of the same name.
