The Arboretum at Penn State

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Arboretum at Penn State (395 acres) is a new arboretum now being created by Pennsylvania State University adjacent to its University Park campus in State College, Pennsylvania. It will become the second arboretum at Penn State, joining the Arboretum at Penn State Behrend, which was created in 2003.[1]

The arboretum's master plan was developed 1996-1999 by Sasaki Associates. Specific plans for landscape and botanic gardens and their associated facilities were completed in 2002, and the first tree was dedicated in 2005. Construction and planting of the arboretum is on hold awaiting a $10 million donation.
