The Anchoress is a conservative leaning weblog focused on politics, current events, New York Yankees baseball, and Roman Catholic issues. The creator of this weblog operates anonymously under the same pseudonym. She has been described by CBS News' Public Eye as "one of the blogosphere's most mysterious and interesting voices." The name is derived from the term Anchorite. The Anchoress is a member of Pajamas Media. The Anchoress also focuses on pro-life issues and promotes them, but has endorsed Rudy Giuliani as a U.S. presidential candidate in 2008 despite his pro-choice positions (and was criticized by other pro-life indiviudals). This site has had approximately 1.8 million hits as of August 2006.
