The American School Foundation of Guadalajara (ASFG) is a thriving community of 1425 students in four academic sections and 174 staff members. It is considered the finest bilingual school in the city and is the only US accredited school in the state of Jalisco. ASFG has the second largest collection of books published in English among the private schools in Mexico.

ASFG Mission Statement: Educating students in a bilingual, bicultural, and secular environment to be purposeful learners, critical and creative thinkers, effective communicators, and community contributors, based on a foundation of honor, freedom, and commitment.
ASFG Vision Statement: To be a leading educational institution

Guadalajara is one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico and an exciting place to work. The American School of Guadalajara is an excellent example of academic excellence. The combination of the two provides many powerful reasons to consider ASFG as a place of employment or to educate your children. ASFG has been a part of the city since 1908 and was restructured by the Board of Directors in 1956.

ASFG's U.S. type programs consists of Early Childhood (Nursery, pre-kinder, kinder), Elementary (Pre-first to grade 4), Middle School (Grades 5 to 8), and High School (Grades 9 to 12). Early Childhood features an English immersion program and is based on the Reggio Emilia approach. In Elementary and Middle School all students study a full U.S. and Mexican program. Most of our high school students are enrolled in the dual program and receive both a U.S. diploma and a Mexican Bachillerato upon graduation. Honors and Advanced Placement courses are an integral part of our high school curriculum. All students are required to fulfill a mandatory community service commitment in addition to their academic work. School graduates typically pursue careers in Mexican, the U.S., or other foreign universities.

As a supplement to the academic course work, ASFG provides an extracurricular program that allows students to play on basketball, volleyball, and soccer teams as well as participate in track and field, swimming, golf, and tennis. Non-sporting activities include student council, yearbook, literary magazine, music appreciation, drama, and special interest clubs. There are chapters of MUN, NHS, and NJHS on campus.

ASFG teaching staff is comprised of highly dedicated professionals who will always put student learning first. They are highly trained and offer their students academic challenges that require creative thinking and problem solving. The curriculum is revised yearly to take into account any new and exciting approaches to fulfilling our standards and benchmarks.

Guadalajara offers a myriad of opportunities for sightseeing and beach appreciation. A five hour drive in any direction will take you to colonial cities, mountain and beach resorts, and artisan centers. Our school offers you the opportunity of a lifetime in an enriching environment surrounded by culture and beauty.
