The debut record released on April 3, 2007, Southern Weather, was recorded in February and March of 2006. The first single, "Say This Sooner", can be heard at The Almost's PureVolume and MySpace page along with "I Mostly Copy Other People" and the demo version of "Never Say I Told You So" (Originaly named "They Say You Can Never Write I Told You So In A Song But Here I Go). Aaron recorded every instrument on the album (except bass on a couple of songs, in which Kenny Vasoli from The Starting Line helped him).

The Almost released their first video for "Say This Sooner" on March 19, 2007. The video premiered on MTV2's UNLEASHED, which ran all day long on the hour. The video is also available on MTV2's website. The video deals with Aaron Gillespie transporting through time with a special device called the iScape (a portmanteau of the words "iPod" and "escape").

The Almost embarked on the "It's All Happening" tour from December 17th to January 20th, 2006 joined by Jay Vilardi (guitar), Nick D’Amico (guitar), Alex Aponte (bass) and Kenny Bozich (drums). In addition to singing lead vocals in The Almost, Aaron Gillespie also plays occasional guitar live. The tour showcased new songs from the upcoming disc Southern Weather.

Since The Almost has started the band has reached over 2,000,000 plays on their myspace music page and the band's song of "Say This Sooner" has reached number one most played on all of purevolume.com.

[edit] Members

Aaron Gillespie has written every piece of music for The Almost and recorded all instruments on their debut "Southern Weather", but it may not be a one man band anymore. The Almost's purevolume page says that the members are "Aaron Gillespie and friends" and on their myspace page it actually lists the band members as "Aaron, Alex, Jay, Dusty and Kenny". These members are most-likely just Aaron's live band and will not appear on any studio albums.

  • Aaron Gillespie (vocals, guitar, drums)
  • Jay Vilardi (guitar)
  • Nick D’Amico (guitar)
  • Alex Aponte (bass)
  • Kenny Bozich (drums)
