The Almighty (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Almighty are a rock band, known for such songs as "Free 'N' Easy". They are from Glasgow in Scotland and formed in 1988.
Most of the musicians came from a punk background, with Ricky Warwick from New Model Army. They disbanded in 1996, reformed in 2000 for a self-titled album replacing guitarist Pete Friesen (of Alice Cooper) with Nick Parsons. A second album shortly followed, Psycho-Narco, with a new bass player Gav Gray who replaced long time bassist Floyd London. The band soon disbanded again with vocalist Ricky Warwick pursuing a solo career.
The classic lineup reformed for benefit shows in January 2006 and are again reforming for appearances at the 2006 Bulldog Bash and for 5 more shows at the end of December 2006.
