[edit] Recap

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The episode starts out on Vilgax's ship. There, the robotic lieutenant has just launched two drones to track down the Omnitrix. These drones are improved versions of the old ones, and the lieutenant is confident that they'll find the Omnitrix. Vilgax is not so confident, since all his previous attempts have fails. He is under the impression that whoever possesses the Omnitrix is as dangerous as they are brilliant.

Back on Earth, Ben is shopping around a store. Quite hungry, he grabs a box of cookies without paying attention to where it is. The box is a part of a large stack, so removing it collapses the entire display. Gwen happens to be in the path of the collapse, and is covered by the boxes. She gives him a sarcastic comment about the event and gets up.

Outside, they are shown to be at a gas station. Max is cleaning the windows. He finds the phrase "Wash me" written on one window and comments on Ben's obvious artwork. Ben is proud of is work, saying it makes a statement. Just then, a laser blast takes out the back of an armored truck. Gwen says that that makes a statement. After the dust has settled, three bikers walk up. Each is dressed in similar attire consisting of a leather jacket, armbands with a skull drawing on them, and helmets with yellow eyes and jagged teeth drawn on them. All three are carrying laser rifles. The leader of the gang turns to Max. In a female voice, she asks what he's looking at. She then levels her laser rifle at him. Max pushes the kids out of the way, leaving just enough time for him to dodge the blast. Instead of hitting him, it hits the pillar behind him, vaporizing a major portion of it. Concerned for his grandfather's safety, Ben activates the Omnitrix.

As the gang unloads the money from the armored car, Fourarms shows up to deal with them. With a single slam on the ground, he creates a fissure that knocks all three off their feet. As Fourarms has Gwen and Max run, the driver of the armored car walks out. When Fourarms asks if he's ok, the man screams and runs. Fourarms isn't quite sure if that's a yes. One of the gang members then blast him, throwing him into a pillar near a gas pump. A follow-up blast destroys the pump, engulfing Fourarms in flame. Max is concerned, but his fears are subdued when Fourarms hops from the flames unharmed. Another strike to the ground produces a similar result as the first one, knocking all three gang members down. The one who fired on him, who had also fired on Max, gets her helmet cracked in the process. The other two are thrown into the truck. Fourarms grabs them and removes their helmets, which reveals both of them to be women.(As some saw the black haired looks like "Kevin 11" as a girl.) Fourarms is distracted by the revelation, not wanting to hurt them, allowing the third gang member to blast him in the back. Though it goes unspoken, her name is Joey. Gwen yells at Ben to clobber her.

As Joey levels her rifle at Fourarms, Vilgax's drones show up to join they fight. They begin firing right away, having no regard for anything in the way. As they fire at Fourarms, they hit the armored truck, sending the money within into the air. Joey is annoyed at the interruption. Her fellow gang members decide it's best to leave. This only annoys Joey further. As Fourarms tries to smash the drones, she prepares to blast him. Max sees this, and tosses a nearby tire at her to stop her. She tries to blast Max again for this. She misses, but the blast hits the roof and covers Max in debris. Both Ben and Gwen are understandably concerned by this. Fourarms grabs the two drones and crushes them into pancakes, then uses them as frisbees to throw at Joey, taking care of her, as well. He then goes over to dig Max out of the rubble. Gwen tries to call 9-1-1, but Fourarms picks both her and Max up, saying there's a hospital up the street. He then hops away, leaving Joey at the scene.

When Joey wakes up, she examines the drones that Vilgax sent. When she pulls the dome off of one, it attaches a tube to her neck. The tube then injects her with something, causing red lines to cover her until she turns completely red. The cops arrive after it has finished its work. When they tell her to freeze, the true extent of her transformation is seen. Not only is her skin now red, she's been enhanced with robotic parts. Sharp metal blades have grown from her forearms and fingers, her eyes have been replaced with scanners similar to those on the probe, and she now has laser cannons equipped to her shoulders. This new version of Joey is called Rojo, though she is not named in this form, either. The cannons make short work of the police cars. Impressed with her new abilities, she grabs the cash and comments that having the new abilities will be a blast.

At the hospital, a doctor explains Max's injuries to the kids. He has a concussion, a broken leg, and several lacerations. When Ben asks if he'll be okay, the doctor assures him that Grandpa Max will recover. When he asks how the accident occurred, Ben says that he was hit by a bumper that was sent flying when a robot drone destroyed a car. The doctor just thinks that Ben is using his imagination to cope with the incident.

On Vilgax's ship, the robotic lieutenant reports that the drones were destroyed. When Vilgax orders him to send more, the lieutenant explains that the drones have somehow merged and are on the move. Vilgax thinks that one head might be better than two in this case.

Back on Earth, explosions are going off in a jewelry store. Inside, Rojo is robbing the place. She melts one of the display cases and grabs some jewels, only to have them disintegrate in her hands. Annoyed, she turns to a nearby clerk, preparing to harm her. She is cut short by a major headache. Vilgax then begins to speak to her. He tries to threaten her into serving him, but she won't go for it. Changing tactics, he brings her mind into an empty space where they can speak further. He then tempts her with full knowledge of her new form, which could prove to be quite powerful. In return, he wants the Omnitrix. This tactic succeeds.

At the hospital, Ben is still worried about Max. Gwen is more worried about him losing to a bunch of girls. Ben claims that heroes don't hit girls. Gwen uses the opportunity to hit him in the arm. He hits her back. When she objects, he says he's not in hero mode, then walks out into the hall. There, he tries to think of ways to help Max with the Omnitrix. Gwen rejects all his ideas. Still thinking of a way, he activates the Omnitrix. This reveals his location to Rojo, who has learned how to fly and is hovering above the city. She crashes through the hospital window and demands that Ben give her the Omnitrix. Ben tells her to come and get it, then runs in the opposite direction with Gwen close behind. As they run, Rojo attempts to blast them, hitting several walls and a nurse's cart in the process. As they run, Ben sees some stairs and leads Gwen down them.

During their trip down the stairs, Gwen recognizes Rojo as the their from the gas station. Ben notices this, too, but Rojo doesn't leave them any time to discuss it. They make it to the bottom of the stairs just as she jumps from the top. In the parking lot outside, they hide behind some ambulances. Rojo says that they can do this the easy way or the hard way, then uses her laser cannons to fire on a nearby mountain, causing an avalanche. Ben tries to go Fourarms to stop it, but ends up as Heatblast instead. He tries to melt the rocks, but they survive the attack. Changing tactics, he melts the ambulences. This diverts the rocks. Heatblast is happy with this, but Gwen points out the new group of people on a bridge in the path of the rocks. Heatblast points out that he hates it when she's right, then goes to save them. Rojo tries to stop him, but a quick burst of heat wards her off. The people on the bridge scatter in every direction upon seeing the rocks. Heatblast destroys the bridge to prevent the rocks from entering the city. They fall into the river below it.

With the city safe, Heatblast is free to focus on Rojo. Unfortunately, she's got the element of surprise on her side. She grabs him and tosses him into a truck filled with sand. She then blasts the truck into oblivion, taking out an oil truck in the process. Heatblast emerges from the rubble unscathed and taunts her. She tries to attack him head on, but he dodges. As she stops by the oil truck, he snaps his fingers and a spark ignites an oil trail below him. The fire leads back to the truck, causing it to explode and sending Rojo flying. Heatblast then leaves, thinking his job to be complete.

At the hospital, Max has been moved to a new room. Ben thinks the entire situation to be his fault, since none of this would be happening if he didn't have the watch. Gwen points out that as long as he can't remove it, there's nothing he can do. Ben isn't so sure.

In another part of town, Rojo recovers from the earlier attack, scaring away the townspeople in the process. Once they've left, Vilgax brings her mind back to the empty space, demanding to know where the Omnitrix is. Rojo admits her failure, then points out that Vilgax never mentioned that she'd be fighting a superhero. She tries to quit after this, but Vilgax swallows her and becomes more demanding, insisting that she retrieve it. He threatenes to end her life, otherwise. He even gives her a plan of action, telling her to make him come to her.

Back at the hospital, both Gwen and Max are sleeping. Ben leaves a note on the bed, saying that it's for the best. He then runs off. He ends up at a park. A kid and his grandfather are there, strangely enough spending the summer with each other like he and Max are. Ben hears an announcer talking about an attack on the local police academy. The description makes it obvious that Rojo is responsible. Ben gets up and goes to confront her.

Back at the hospital, Gwen wakes up to find Ben gone. She then finds his note. She reads it aloud, explaining the meaning behind Ben's earlier statement. He no longer wishes to put them in danger so he's running away. Max wakes up and asks what's wrong, but is interrupted by the television. The same report that Ben heard is still running, so they automatically know where Ben's gone. When Gwen decides to go help, Max tries to follow, insisting that going solo would be too dangerous. Gwen is unable to argue him down, so she lowers his bed so he can't get up. Outside, some EMTs are called to the police academy. Gwen is hiding in the back.

At the police academy, Rojo is destroying everything in sight. Ben shows up as XLR8 and knocks her off-balance. When she regains her composure, she grabs him and then kicks into a car. As she approaches, she comments on the mission given to her by Vilgax, referring to him as "he." This confuses XLR8 for a second. Ignoring it for the time being, he jumps up and kicks her several times in the chest. As the two face off, a police tank rolls up and aims at them. XLR8 puts some distance between it and himself, allowing it to deal with Rojo for him. After it fires on her, it moves towards XLR8. Before it can fire again, however, Rojo picks it up, holding on to it just long enough for the passengers to flee. She then tosses it at XLR8. It looks like she might have hit him at first, but he shows up behind her. He delivers several blows in rapid succession, sending her flying. She responds with one of her shoulder-mounted laser cannons, sending him flying. The paramedics show up just as Rojo gets the upper hand. Seeing their truck, she turns her attention towards it. XLR8 sees it, too, along with Gwen, who had been hiding in the back. He quickly grabs her and runs into an alley.

In the alley, Gwen berates XLR8 for trying to ditch them. He reverts at this point. Hearing Rojo flying towards them, Ben cuts the conversation short and the two run. Rojo catches up and fires a few laser blasts at them, but none hit. The resulting smoke cloud allows them to hide behind a target silhouette. With Rojo unable to find them, Gwen continues their earlier conversation, saying that Ben can't just run away from them. Ben insists that it's his choice, as well as his fight and weird watch in regards to the current situation. Hearing more laser fire from Rojo, the two flee to a gym.

In the gym, Gwen gets a call on her cell. It's for Ben. Max is on the other end, but the first part of the conversation goes unheard. When Ben mentions the situation they're in, Max tells him to stop trying to fight Rojo on the outside and try to stop her from within. The line gives Ben an idea, which Gwen makes sure to point out as more evidence that he can't just leave them. Ben activates the Omnitrix, alerting Rojo to his location. As she begins blasting holes through the roof, Ben transforms into Upgrade. As Rojo searches the building, Upgrade jumps on top of her and merges with the robotic parts. When he does, his mind ends up in the same empty space in which Vilgax and Rojo had spoken before.

In the empty space, Vilgax tells Upgrade to be afraid, going through the typical villain speech about retrieving what is his and destroying Upgrade for taking it. Upgrade says nothing during the entire exchange. Vilgax then seems to swallow Upgrade whole.

Back in the real world, Rojo is able to peel Upgrade from herself. Upgrade is both weary and disoriented from the experience, as is Rojo. When they get their bearings, Rojo tries to blast Upgrade. He dodges the attack and merges with some weight lifting equipment and attacks her. She manages to get away and falls onto a treadmill. Upgrade then merges with that, causing it to throw her into the weight lifting equipment. Once she recovers, she begins blasting away at Upgrade, hitting much of the foundation in the process. The police show up during this. Gwen tells them to duck just before a laser blast hits them. Once they avoid it, they begin firing on Rojo. Upgrade tackles her and merges with her again, this time shorting out all the robotic parts on her. When he finally gets up, the pieces crumble off of her, leaving her as regular Joey. Joey is surprised by this, trying to convince Upgrade that's she not a bad person, using the phrase "I'm just a girl," all the while staring at her original laser rifle which has separated from the drone pieces. As she picks it up, Gwen runs up and kicks her, echoing Joey's earlier statement as she does so. Upgrade then carries Joey out as the building collapses around them. He leaves her with the police and takes off with Gwen.

At the hospital, Max has been released. He's glad to be able to get back on the road. As they head to the RV, Gwen questions Ben on his experience with Rojo. He relates the experience to her, being sure to mention the part about how he should be afraid. Max has a dour expression on his face, leading Ben to think that he is afraid. Max quickly reassures him, saying they'll be fine as long as they stick together. This works for both Ben and Gwen. As they enter the RV, Max looks into space, where Vilgax is waiting in his regeneration tank. The episode ends on that note.

Spoilers end here.
