The Adventures of Hiram Holiday

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Adventures of Hiram Holiday was a situation comedy broadcast by NBC as part of its 1956-57 lineup.

The Adventures of Hiram Holiday starred Wally Cox as meek, mild-mannered proofreader for a major New York City newspaper who was discovered to have, all appearances to the contrary, remarkable abilities with regard to vigorous and often dangerous activities such as fencing, scuba diving, piloting, and the like. When the newspaper's publisher learned of this, he provided Hiram with a reporter, Joel Smith (Ainslie Pryor), whose job became to accompany Hiram on his travels and report about them to the newspaper's many readers.

Hiram Holiday was not successful competition for Arthur Godfrey and His Friends on CBS or Disneyland on ABC and was cancelled in February of 1957.
