This and The World (disambiguation) need to be switched around. æle 21:14, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

    • I've done that. This article was originally at the World, and I've changed that to a redirect to world and moved it here. Police officer 04:40, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The World

  • "entering instanced combat areas, with a few common central cities."

It seems that in all of the various .hack media and all storylines, these areas are not instanced. Non-partied characters regularly show up either by appointment, coincidence, or purpose.

  • "PVP play is highly limited. In this way it more closely resembles Guild Wars in play than most current MMORPGs"

It seems at any time, at any place, one is at risk of being PK'ed. There seems to be no restriction in the system. However, it is the Crimson Knights (an unsanctioned group of players) that take it upon themselves to warn or punish those who would ruin the experience of others. But because they are just regular players, they really have no true authority.

Hmmm. PK'ing and PVP in The World have changed through versions released by CC Corporation. Will pinpoint, confirm, and update as necessary.

The infobox is misleading. It drove me to the extent that I almost nominated this article for deletion under the "Hoax" category. Hence, Iam taking them off. Replace those infoboxes with something that don't mislead people.rohith 17:55, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

The article as a whole needs a rewrite. Sentences like, "As of 2008 it has over 20 million players", although appearing in the "Spoilers" section, makes it look more real than fictional.rohith 18:17, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Well in the world of .hack it is indeed very real. I guess it must be taken into the contect of relating articles but I am unsure as of a solution if indeed the article seems 'too real' because I seriously doubt reminding everyone it is fiction in every other sentance is a proper solution... • Under "CC Corperation" there seems to be some blatant advertising for a possibly copyright-infringing game based of The World. This should be removed, or at the very least, moved to Exterior Links.

This article needs a rewrite badly, as a person who has never played .hack it is almost impossible for me to understand what it is talking about.

Quite a bit of this is taken word for word from the .hack//LIMINALITY Vol. 1 DVD that was included with Infection, the first game, so it does require outside knowledge. Also, I agree with rewriting, however, in terms of gameplay, what do we consider canonical? Differences between the manga, games, shows, etc. Should events such as The One Sin be mentioned? Descendants of Fianna? Dot Hackers? It would be pointless to keep rewriting...--Naruttebayo
