[edit] Weird 2

The 1977 gig list doesn't list Quark or some other songs here as having been played at all at the Leicester show.[1] It would seem then, that a Starfarer review saying the tracks are from Stonehenge[2] is likely to be closer to the mark. --kingboyk 15:45, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

The problem with the Weird Tapes is they came with scant information, and in many cases the information that was provided was purposefully misleading. The "Stonehenge 1977" recordings (Tapes #2, #3 and #5) are certainly not from the Free Festival, but are probably from the Autumn tour (Leicester and Hammersmith according to PXR5), "High Rise" here being the version that appeared on PXR5. The claim that "Spirit of the Age" is from Chicago 1978 comes from the sleeve notes to Hawkwind, Friends and Relations#Volume 2 - I doubt that they would hire a mobile studio to record any of their low-key 1978 USA shows, but who knows?
