Ed, The association was legit but as far as I know it doesn't exist anymore. The modern equivalent would be Intellectual Property Owners Association.

It's the modern stock promoters that are frauds since they are using the name to deceive the public that a company has patents. What motivated me to write the article was when I got a fax this morning from one of these stock promotion companies and I Googled "United States Patent Association to see what it was.--Nowa 22:47, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
