Editing Guidelines |
Please remember these guidelines when editing a film article:
- If a non-film article already exists with the name of the film that you are trying to create an article for, disambiguate and use (film) in the title: Film Title (film)
- When writing an article about a particular film, the general format should be a concise lead section, followed by a plot summary of no more than 900 words, production details, a cast list, a reception section, and references.
- Create an Infobox that tells all pertinent information about the film.

[edit] Suggestions on RS, EL
- User:Justanother, I will take some of your suggestions to heart on this article about what you perceive to be RS, and things appropriate or not for the EL section. But please respect that I am actively working on this article and give me a chance to add more reputable citations. Then we can discuss. I have already compromised on one issue and moved a citation to the EL section. Smee 23:21, 5 March 2007 (UTC).
- This is most likely a media hoax. With all that fight going on about Scientology not being an alien cult, I can't imagine that Cruise would produce a Sci-Fi called "Thetan" or any Scientology-type of title. Where is a reliable source which makes this rumor into something which should be in an encyclopedia? Your statements are not backed up by the sources you name. Misou 21:48, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps the project may have been canceled - though that has not been reported in a reputable secondary source - but the sourced citations do support the information given. There are plenty of Wikipedia articles about upcoming films. See Jumper (film) for a model. At any rate, I would suggest that you take the time to read some of the articles from the sourced citations, they are indeed quite interesting. You can also read some more on it through this Google Search... Yours, Smee 21:53, 9 March 2007 (UTC).
- I did. The reporting about this "movie project" stands on the nomenclature of a hoax, i.e. "maybe", "reportedly", "it is reported", "apparently" etc, plus that about all those articles appeared in the gossip section, in celebrity blogs or tabloids, plus that it is clearly part of an old campaign to make Scientologists appear to be members of some "bizarre sci-fi cult". Honestly, it makes me shiver that you do not recognize this. Sorry, Misou 22:40, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I was not the one who initially created the article, so don't go making assumptions here, I only expanded it with reputable secondary sourced citations. Please improve your tone and be more polite. Thanks. Smee 22:51, 9 March 2007 (UTC).
- Chill, please, and don't back out now. I know you have not created the article. However you are about to merrily violate the goal of WP:SCN which says "Dry and encyclopaedic is the goal here". I give you a chance to correct that by pointing out that you might miss something, namely the meaning of "encyclopedic". WP:SCN further says "It should be possible to work together (or at least not conflicting overly) in a manner that self-evidently fits Wikipedia's goals, policies and guidelines and its mission as an encyclopedia." This article is a hoax - and by now you know it - and either it is marked as such or deleted. I have never seen hoaxes in an encyclopedia. Consequently you should put the article up for deletion. Over to you. Misou 04:49, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Every single sentence is backed up by sourced citations from reputable sources. You may assume that the rumours might be a "hoax", but the article itself is certainly not - and will be expanded upon in the future with more sourced citations from reputable secondary sources... Smee 04:52, 10 March 2007 (UTC).
- Now it is. Are you taking bets if this movie is ever being produced? Misou 05:58, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- I have followed the lead of the majority of your edits and merged the 2 into a fair compromise for the article. The main body of the article now attributes the sourced/cited statements to their proper citations... Smee 06:12, 10 March 2007 (UTC).

- Yeah. I am a bit busy these days and saw it only today. I think that article is pretty ok now. Misou 04:25, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. We shall have to wait and see if/when more news comes out on this subject... Smee 04:25, 14 March 2007 (UTC).
