I read this book some years ago; I think pretty much at the end they go by train after some evil guys - as far as I remember they start from vienna, towards germany; they mention a stop in Bad Ischl, but taking today's railway they'd come nowhere near it ... maybe someone wants to check? It's really quite good, tho the movie is more "Sigmund Frued's Adventure costarring Holmes". (It's got the great line, "Tell them I was murdered by my mathematics tutor. They'll never believe you in any case.") It also seems to me to've pioneered a "revisionist" (not a word I like here) approach; Matt Frewer plays Holmes in at leaast one film that "reinterprets" a couple of canon stories, joining them into one, where Irene Adler is a master spy.
