the members of the richmond indigenous gourd orchestra (rigo) have been active in richmond. va's local arts and music scene since the late 1970's. its members have at one time been members of orthotonics, ululating mummies, argonauts (later argomusic), hotel x and have all been important figures in richmond's underground music scene. arthur stephens in particular has been a fixture in richmond's arts community, recognized for his videography and film-making over the years. former collaborators in the early 1980's include former gwar members dewey rowell and rob mosby (argonauts members). furthermore, this is not promotional in nature, as i reside in new england and am not affiliated with the members of rigo.
