Talk:The Residence Hall Association at Florida Institute of Technology
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This student organization is represents the entire student body who live in residence halls, thus, by definition the largest student organization. It should not be deleted because of the future sections to be added into the page in the near future.
I plan on deleting the "RHA" citations on the Florida Institute of Technology Wikipedia article under "Student Organizations" section in order to separate the organization from the main objectives of the Florida Tech article on Wikipedia.
Before deletion, please at least notify me by emailing me. Thanks.Jameson L. Tai
- I've already deleted the proposed section on Florida Institute of Technology and replaced it with the list of active student organizations from the Student Activities webpage (note that the list will change actively during the summer as well as in the beginning of fall semester 2007). [edit] Notability
re The Residence Hall Association at Florida Institute of Technology Well, OK. You've put a lot of work into making a nice article. It's well laid out and complete and referenced and all. The problem is, the organization probably just isn't notable, see [WP:NOTABILITY. Anyway, I'm not going to nominate it for deletion, seeing as its all nice and all, but someone else might at some future time, and if so it may not survive. You've done some nice work and that would be shame, but there it is. Herostratus 03:01, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you User:Herostratus for that compliment. I tried really hard in making sure that the article is cited, referenced, and is "on standard" with some of the other reputable articles on Wikipedia. After reading the notability article (See WP:NOTABILITY) I see your point. The organization is planning on expanding next academic year (2007~2008), in addition to gaining pubicity by the amount of public service events RHA is about to put on. Hopefully via public media coverage the notability of this organization will increase. For now, I will add content to this article in as much detail as possible while preserving objectivity.
If anyone would like to comment or improve this article, please feel free to do so. (And (for Florida Tech personnel/students: please make sure you verify all official images taken from the university's website are released from University Publications.)
User:Herostratus, please feel free to contact me with any tips on how to improve notability and/or just anything to improve the article. Thank you very much!
