Talk:The Prop Store of London
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I almost just requested this, since I don't know THAT much about the company... except, they seem prominent enough that it was hard to convince myself I shouldn't just go ahead and create the darn thing myself. Several million hits per month and participation in some fairly noteworthy films' and series' marketing campaigns should, I think, prove sufficient notability, yes? I do not know much else beyond what I could find on their site and through a brief Google search, but the Christies auction seemed notable, so I added it to the external links section. Forbes is notable in and of itself, so I also noted their decision to include it in "Best of the Web". There's actually quite a few more films and such that they've participated in the marketing of, but the three I listed in the article's initial creation I felt would be the most noteworthy - Eternal Sunshine got an Oscar nod, the X-Men movie franchise has proved quite popular and is very notable, and Red Dwarf is notable in the UK (where the company is based). Part of me wanted to add Serenity to the list, but Serenity has yet to become more than a cult film at this point, though if DVD sales continue the way they have, it may become a minor sleeper hit (maybe... in a minor way). I love it to pieces, but I don't think it's as notable as the others I mentioned (although of note is that the screenplay did in fact win a Hugo award, it's still not as prestigious as an Oscar, and I know a lot of people who didn't even know Serenity existed).
Anyway, one last thing: I'd like to apologize for using American spelling and whatnot for a UK company article. Feel free to correct it. :) Runa27 06:50, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
