[edit] The Sony/Columbia - Def Jam Agreement

I remember reading on the site NobodySmiling.com (possibly in the forums) that part of the agreement between Def Jam and Nas' former label was that Sony/Columbia attained the rights of all tracks Nas recorded during his stay. Now unless Nas waits another three years to piece together work he has not released whilst with Def Jam, we can all safely presume that The Lost Tapes 2 will be a Sony/Columbia release. NOT Def Jam.

Yes but Wiki is not for assumptions, we need the facts, this is not a crystal ball.

It was in an interview with Jay-Z who explained the nature of the contract.

[edit] The Lost Tapes 2 & The Lost Tapes Vol. 2

The Mick Boogie mixtape is called The Lost Tapes 2. According to rumours, the follow-up to Nas' 2002 compilation album, The Lost Tapes, is to be called The Lost Tapes Vol. 2. These are completely different, as is 50 Cent's Hip Hop Is Dead mixtape and Nas' Hip Hop Is Dead album.
