[edit] Notability

  • This band is important enough to have four records rated (positively) in the 1996 Penguin Guide to Jazz on CD; admittedly they were no longer present in the 2002 edition, probably because their records had gone out of print. Ferdinand Pienaar 21:34, 2005 Feb 19
    • Then be bold and give the article a discography section, rather than just talking about it on the talk page. The notices do say to "expand the article". Uncle G 01:21, 2005 Feb 20 (UTC)
  • At least as notable as the List of Bart Simpson's pets, or Star Trek characters who have been mentioned on South Park... Ferdinand Pienaar 21:34, 2005 Feb 19
    • That argument doesn't wash, for many reasons, too long to go into here (see past WP:VFD discussions). In any case, it's irrelevant. WikiProject Music has a set of specific guidelines for bands, singers, and suchlike. Since it does, other standards for completely different articles on completely different topics are only of secondary importance. Uncle G 01:21, 2005 Feb 20 (UTC)
