[edit] Moved from Talk:Lord of the Rings Prequel

It is not 100% clear, but this article is not talking about The Hobbit (2009 film), but appears to be talking about another, unnamed, film that could use other LotR-related material. Probably so speculative that it should be merged with Peter Jackson, or the article linked above. In fact, the prequel is already mentioned at The Hobbit (2009 film), so I'll redirect it there. [edit] Raimi

Thought this might be of some use. Erik (talkcontrib) - 17:40, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2009?

Where does this date come from? So far this has been no official word of The Hobbit beginning production at all, and until that happens, no date is appropriate. 69.210.66.153 15:38, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Probably due to its IMDb page. IMDb always attached some kind of release year, even when none has been announced. So 2009 is a false assumption. —Erik (talkcontribreview) - 15:40, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Is this article premature?

According to Wikipedia guidelines, "Individual scheduled or expected future events should only be included if the event is almost certain to take place." Have we really reached that point with this movie? Celedor15 20:05, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

The movie will almost certainly be made. Details such as cast are however currently unknown. We also do not know which studio will make it, whether or not Peter Jackson will direct it and many other essential details you would expect to find in such an article. Maybe we should call this article "The Hobbit (film) controversy" and just update it every-so-often as new developments happen. Enviroboy 18:03, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Prequel to LOTR?

Wait; ANOTHER prequel project to LOTR, alongside The Hobbit, is also in the works? There is another book? The Hobbit IS the only prequel -- unless this other prequel will be an entirely new story (not based on anything). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.12.38.25 (talk) 12:33, 26 March 2007 (UTC).

There is The Silmarillion but it's not really a story; more like a collection of stories and many, many possible plotlines for another prequel to LOTR. Timberlax 03:59, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
