Talk:The Guests

[edit] Wrong title?

Has this movie ever been released under the title "The Guests"? It was Ushpizin at my local movie theater, and is listed as such in Netflix (which generally does translate), at IMDB, on the movie poster we have here for its image, and in every critical review I can find (e.g. http://movies2.nytimes.com/2005/10/19/movies/19ushp.html?ex=1153627200&en=616642889d88b12e&ei=5070, http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/movies/mmx-0501028-movies-review-ushpizin,0,229155.story, http://ae.philly.com/entertainment/ui/philly/movie.html?id=463449&reviewId=19419, etc.). While I think it would be valuable to mention this translation of the Aramaic in the article, why not move this movie to its correct title? --Khazar 00:00, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Ditto the official site listed here, and apparently the cover of the DVD as well. --Khazar 00:02, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree that we should change the title. But before we do, can we agree that the new title should be "Ushpizin", and not "HaUshpizin" as in the IMDB? --Keeves 03:07, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, folks, we have a little problem. As much as I'd like to rename the article about the movie to be "Ushpizin", there already exists a page by that name. OTOH, it is merely a disambig page, offering the user to choose between the article about Sukkos customs or the movie. Therefore, I think that the best approach would be to: (1) delete the disambig page; (2) move "The Guests" to "Ushpizin"; (3) add a line to the top of "Ushpizin": "For the customs of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, see Sukkot#Ushpizzin". Seems fair enough to me -Elipongo 20:03, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
