Re Garden being a doctor - I found a BBC link that says he is - and you HAVE to trust the BBC :) [1]
- Graeme Garden studied medicine at Emmanuel College at the University of Cambridge, as well as at King's College Hospital in London. He received his medical degree in 1967.
- He was studying medicine during the early seasons of "I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again", and so was unable to be a member of the cast during the third season because of a midwifery medical course in Plymouth. However, he kept on sending scripts for the radio show by mail - and rejoined the cast of ISIRTA upon his return to his medical studies in London.
- His medical studies held him in good stead for his co-writing (with Bill Oddie) of some of the episodes of "Doctor in the House (TV series)", as he was able to base the medical information of the episodes on his own experiences as a medical student. On a note of trivia, Graeme and Bill wrote most of the episodes for the first season of the series and all of the episodes for the second season. Figaro 04:17, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

- Actually, it is "Goody, Goody, yum, yum" - but at least Drat created the template for all of us Goodies fans, and for that I am grateful. It would be nice if there could also be an alternate Goodies template, sometime, which could feature a silhouette of the Goodies on their trandem (as per the Goodies and trandem silhouette on both of the VHS covers on the article page), in place of where the wording is (in a similar way to the use of the picture of the Monty Python "foot" on the Monty Python template).

[edit] About the destruction of the episodes of "At Last the 1948 Show"
There is printed information that David Frost personally arranged for the destruction of the entire series of "At Last the 1948 Show" after he was offended by what he thought was a dig at him personally by the cast of the series.
What happened was that, in the movie "The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer" (for which two of the writers were John Cleese and Graham Chapman), the ethics of the character, Michael Rimmer, could be seen as being loosely based on the ethics of David Frost - — also, Michael Rimmer's living room in the movie strongly resembled David Frost's living room. As a result of this, David Frost angrily arranged to have the complete series of "At Last the 1948 Show" wiped for good as a punishment. The similarity of the living room in the movie to David Frost's living room, however, was merely a coincidence. The designer for the set had never been in David Frost's house and did not realise how close the set design was. As a result of David Frost's anger, the complete series of "At Last the 1948 Show" was almost lost — it was only saved when John Cleese discovered that the episodes were in the process of being wiped and fought to save the remaining 5 episodes (out of the original 13 episodes) from suffering the same fate. All the surviving material was released on DVD in 2005).
Although the information about the above reason for wiping the tapes does exist, I am not able, at the moment, to give the necessary source citation for it because I need to check through things first. When I do find the necessary citation, and can quote the source, I will be putting the information onto the article page for "The Goodies", as well as onto the article page for "At Last the 1948 Show". - I should point out that I have written this information on "The Goodies" Talk page only because I have had to correct a statement, on the article page for "The Goodies", that the destruction cited was merely a "supposed" destruction, only (written by somebody who incorrectly assumed that there had not been any destruction at all and wrote the POV comment as 'fact'). [edit] The Goodies (TV series)
The Goodies (TV series) article has been created especially for the television series, in a similar way to the article for Monty Python's Flying Circus television series is separate to the article for the Monty Python team.
I have transferred some information concerning the television series from the main article page for The Goodies to the television article, but, unfortunately, the credits for the people who wrote the transferred sections could not be transferred with the information they supplied. The acknowledgements and credits for their edits and donations of information will, however, continue to remain in connection with the main article.

[edit] Chief Inspector Nancy Bottle
Does anybody have any info about a (?unseen?) character named 'Chief Inspector Nancy Bottle'? (?a male?)
I think the Goodies told some jokes about Nancy Bottle in their TV series.
And I distinctly remember one of the Goodies' books had a humerous psychological/intelligence questionaire that showed a diagram of several drawings and asked, "Who is the odd man out?" The hand-scrawled answer was "Chief Inspector Nancy Bottle".

Cheif Inspector George 'Nancy' Bottle was a character in The Goodies File (my copy of which is currently lost, so I'm afraid I can't provide publishing details). The storyline goes that a policeman, PC Bent, with the aid of the Goodies' sacked cleaner Mrs Edna Tole, are trying to discredit The Goodies so they can make a lot of money selling the story. 'Nancy' is PC Bent's superior officer. More details to follow when I find the book... Jodievdw 11:47, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

The claim to fair use for covers, screenshots and the like hinges on the assertion that the images are required to illustrate the article about the image subject. When we over-use images (such as displaying every DVD cover), that harms the fair use claim. To that end, please consider carefully what images to use, and where.
