[edit] Regarding the Notability Tag

A film is in pre-production regarding the first installation, starring various actors including Kevin McNally. Surely this is enough notability, as compliant with Wiki standards. Alosel 10:59, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Which Kevil McNally and do you have a reliable source stating it?
I have communications with the author, and plus it is stated in the Goblin Films Ltd. website. It is this Kevin McNally, who stared as Mr Gibbs in the Pirates of the Carribean films. Alosel 10:20, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
But the site says preproduction?
Precisely what I said. All films start that way anywho Alosel 17:41, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Also, the book has been out for over a year and has a cult following. The author herself has her own notability being the successfull author of many books and being one of few occult writers to jump to fiction successfully. Alosel 23:15, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Pre-production doesn't cut it. The Tekken movie article was deleted because it's been in pre-production for a long time with no other news, and Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. Also see WP:BK and WP:NN to see what qualifies at notable on Wikipedia.
Maybe so, but this isn't about the movie. This is about a book that has been in publication for over a year. The fact that it is being made into a film is only additional information, as you may have notived there is no Wiki page on the movie itself. Alosel 21:36, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Then this article is even less notable...
I think notability may be given greater substance on or after Novermber 27th. Also, I think it would be more beneficial to include other editors in this discussion. Finally, the first criteria for notability cleary give notability to the author on her own, being the author of a series of non-fiction books, along with other notable books of Chaos Magic which are seen as relevant within the wider Chaos community Alosel 11:42, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

I can't believe this is under discussion. Jaq D Hawkins is recognised in works of other well-known magicians including Ramsey Dukes, Donald Michael Kraig, and Clive Harper's Bibliography of writings about Austin Osman Spare. There's your notoriety, even if you don't count reviews and magazine articles. Oh yes, I have a copy of an old X-Files magazine where she was interviewed in the same article as Peter J Carroll and Dave Lee. She is currently on staff at Arcanorium Magical College with them and Ramsey Dukes. She wrote the first and only explanatory book about chaos magic and is the only occult author to successfully make the jump to fiction writing, and is now producing a film with named talent. Talk about accomplishments! Marcyoung

I think if by the end of the week, there are no more objections, then tag should be removed. ~Alosel~ | (Talk) 22:10, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Why aren't there any more objections? For one, nothing's cited towards her notability. For starters, you can cite that X-Files magazine, as well as other sources, because on Wikipedia, notability doesn't mean popular. Games with millions of players were nominated for deletion because it doesn't fit Wikipedia's notability.
The first criteria of WP:BK is filled, with Jaq D. Hawkins as an author in her own right. ~Alosel~ | (Talk) 12:49, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
How so, if her article has a notability tag?
Where? ~Alosel~ | (Talk) 12:09, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
I'll be taking the notive down by the beginning of next week if there are no more objections. ~Alosel~ | (Talk) 18:09, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
