"According to IMDB [1], this was the inspiration for the movie The Game."
Can anyone provide any supporting evidence that this IMDB bit of trivia is correct? Someone who has never played The Game might say that, for instance, "The Magus" by John Fowles could be the inspiration for the movie.

Some thoughts submitted for your approval: "The Game" is the product of a culture of intellectual achievement which permeates Silicon Valley. It is sort of an extreme-sports version of a treasure hunt. Combined with its underground nature (and maybe the luminaries who have participated in it), this gives it a mystique and a reputation that extends far beyond the small group of people who have played in it.
Or fish around in related newspaper/magazine articles (e.g., the Rolling Stone article) for more evidence of significance.
Additional notes: The Game is still being played and constructed across the country, and is often wondered about by people who have friends involved in it. ;-) A version of The Game is done yearly by Microsoft for its intern program, in an attempt to increase awareness of The Game, to preserve the intellectual aspect of MS's Silicon Valley mentality, and, of course, for fun. (The MS game will have a website soon.)

Why are various games in cities that are not Seattle (Las Vegas, New York, etc.) listed under the header of Seattle Games? Darquis 00:59, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
