Hello, I am rather new here, but when I was reading this article, I felt that the following paragraph needed some work, especially regarding its neutrality:
- The plot is extremely similar to that of the 1991 film Point Break. Both films feature an undercover cop infiltrating a gang of extreme sports junkies in order to gain information about a series of heists, in both films the protagonist falls for the sister of the gang's leader and both films end in the protagonist choosing to take up the life of those he was tasked to spy upon. Error in information, Point Break: protagonist falls for antagonist's ex girlfriend, F&F: Toretto's crew are NOT extreme sports junkies, crew members are car enthusiasts. Similarities are Coincidence. Fast and the Furious being the better film.
The final line seems particularly egregious, but I wanted to bring this to the attention of someone more qualified to judge. Thank you CMD Beaker 00:51, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

Isn't there a movie called too fast too furious? Is that film like an number two of the original the fast and the furious? I can't find a article 'bout that. --NorwegianMarcus 13:04, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

I don't see why the three movies in the series were merged together because it looks really confusing and it was better they way it was before when it was all separated. Hopefully, the merge can be reverted to 3 separate articles.

Just because the protagonist is Caucasian and the antagonist is Asian, it doesn’t indicate that the entire film is racist. AND DOES ANYONE RELISE, the actual hijackers turned out to be the WHITE GANG! Unless you count Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodrigaz, but most viewers, at the time, didn’t realize that they were mult -racial, and I imagine their characters were not scripted as such. Plus I imagine there are a few groups of Asian-Americans who do engage in violence from time to time, and to say you can’t cast a group of Asians as bad guys because there are no bad Asians would be racial profiling. During the entire movie there were no ethnic slurs used and there were a few non-violent Asian characters. Besides we are talking about the director of the BRUCE LEE story. If you hate the Asian race than why on Earth would you make a movie about an Asian guy?

I love the Charger! I’ll take American Muscle over a Japanese compact any day of the week, and I was still blown away by how they depicted the charger at the end of the film. It is shown the key element in that films climax. They showed it rearing up on its back wheels like a monster, and it still managed to hold its own against the Supra even after Paul Walker hit the nitrous. And although, if you look closely you can see the Supra just beat the Charger, in a true street race it would have been too close for the drivers to call and most of audience do not realize who the true victor is either. And besides this race was actually about who the better driver is; the old gunslinger vs. the new gunslinger, in the ultimate showdown. And at the end they, like their cars, are both equals. Even though I do like the charger better, for the character development, they had to have Paul Walker tie with Vin Diesel.

Toretto is seen driving a 1970 SS Chevrolet Chevelle around Mexico after the movie credits. The car should be in the feature car list so please dont delete.

If you are actually familiar with the Mitsubishi Eclipse then you'll see that in the movie when Paul Walker pops the hood of his Eclipse the engine is a non-turbo 420A and not a turbocharged 4G63. Furthermore all of the die-cast toy models of the Fast and the Furious Eclipse have the 420A engine under the hood. Therefore this is a no-brainer.

the trivia reference to the gear shifting in the charger is likely wrong. Although an overdrive 4 speed auto is possible, given that the car is (in the movie at least, irrespective of real life) it's _highly unlikely_ in this format. A large supercharged engine produces exceptional amounts of torque, and the use of the lowest gear (1st) would make it almost impossible to hook up as it is. It's often easier and more consistant to take off in second (or run a tighter convertor). It also means the engine will spend a split second in first gear. So hypothetically, it wouldn't be able to use the torque, and the diff ratio (that would allow enough traction off the line, as well at put the engine at the most desirable rpm point through the traps) it would likely have would mean it'd never use (or require) a 4th gear. As such, you often find people have (with very quick cars and very powerful motors) instead run a 2 speed powerglide auto. Aside from it being cheaper to upgrade to a given strength requirement than a 4speed auto, they have an exceptionally well catered to aftermarket, and despite being a GM product, there are adapters and so forth to put them behind practically any other big V8. At the very least, it's _far_ more likely such a car would run a 727 torqueflite, a similarly particularly strong auto, and still cheaper to modify than a 4sp. To play devil's advocate, on a road car it would allow a near ideal drag racing diff ratio, but use of the overdrive for lower rpm highway cruising. Such a car, which was purported to be a drag only car (and appeared to have mechanical injection, which is more often than not a feature on cars running either methanol (alcohol fuel in the US) or that and nitromethane. The stoich a/f ratios of those fuels is far richer than gasoline, requiring around 2x the fuel use per hp, so their potential economy with that fuel would also practically guarantee that it wouldn't have been able to complete the final chase and race scene before running out of fuel (by a long margin).
secondly - I don't know for sure, but it _appears_ that in that final chase that closeups of the riders (teh actors not the stuntmen) featured helmets that had a larger than normal face open area, and lower/further forward chin section. Possibly to allow the actors to be easily identified. Some motorcross helmets are like this but to a lesser extent. It could be that they _are_ unmodified - anyone else able to comment?
