[edit] Program Name
Is there any reason for Fairly OddParents instead of Fairly Odd Parents? Or should I move it? --Dyss 17:14, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I first moved this article from Fairly Oddparents to Fairly Odd Parents, because "Fairly Odd Parents" gets the most google hits, but now I'm unsure. Most of the fans seem to address the series as "Fairly OddParents".. I'd like some official source which says which version is the right name for the series. --Conti|✉ 20:07, Sep 21, 2004 (UTC)

- Looks like Fairly OddParents is right after all. http://www.nick.com/all_nick/tv_supersites/display_show.jhtml?show_id=fai The logo isn't very clear but the tblack on white text below it is. --Dyss 13:28, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)

- I'm 95% sure it's "Fairly Odd Parents". That is what it is called in all the TV listings, and that's what it looks like on the logo. Sure, the website lists it once as "Fairly Oddparents", but since that is the only place it is listed as that, it's probably a typo. The occurences of the "Odd Parents" name greaty outnumber the "Oddparents" name, I think we should call it the former. --ChaosSorcerer91 12:54, 04 Aug 2006 (GMT)

Hi! Can anybody explain to a non native speaker the reason of the name "Fairly Oddparents"? As far as I know, and even after consulting dictionaries, this has the only meaning "quite strange parents", or something similar. Is there any particular reason for "Fairly Oddparents", apart from the fact that it sounds like "Fairy Godparents"? Thanks to all!Popopp 16:24, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Character Info
Once again, this section was removed. Once again, I've restored it. It gives a much better overview of the main characters and relationships in FOP than does the character list. -- Ruggles, 2:46 AM Sept. 8 2006
Once again I have restored the character section. It is more comprehensive than the other main character list, which I have deleted to avoid repetition. I'm not budging on this. There is some good writing in the main character section, it has interesting commentary on the characters and relationships that the other list did not, so IMO it deserves to stay. -- Ruggles, 11:23 AM Sept. 8 2006
- If you find the information to be helpful, please add it to the individual character pages. That's what they are there for. -Shannernanner 22:31, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
I have done so. -- Ruggles
[edit] parents names?
are there any hints to the parents names?
In many episodes they're mentioned as Timmy's mom and Timmy's dad. These names are not just mentioned by Timmy but by Chet-U-Betcha as well. --24.247.126.44 01:23, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
- The nearest they ever came to saying the names was two times, one was when Sherlock Holmes was brought to life by Timmy's wish and said he deduced their names were .... which closed a book and Mom said "Oh you're right! They are!" Dad says " I could do this at least once every day!" and the episode ended, and the other was when Timmy first goes back in time to stop his father from winning a trophy. When he says "Dad look out!" His father responds something like "Well Dad is what they call me but my real name is ...." at which time a truck roars past. So they haven't said it and it's true so far they haven't actually given any major hints. Ryokosha 02:04, 1 March 2006 (UTC).
I don't think they have a first name
Like "What state is Springfield in?" from the Simpsons, it's clear that Butch decided to make this a running gag. 71.201.59.253 21:00, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- Their names are Robert Turner and Kelly Mozzarella-Turner. Mewtwowimmer 18:05, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jimmy Timmy Power Hour 3 - Ratings flop
I have restored yet again the FACT that JTPH3 was a ratings flop. Nick has confirmed this by not mentioning JTPH3 or its ratings in Nick's recent press release regarding its July ratings performance, whereas it DID highlight the ratings of "Fairy Idol" in its press release on its May ratings performance. So leave the info be! It is not opinion, it is FACT.
Oh yeah? Well where's the proof?? Marcus 22:00, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
I mentioned some "proof" in my earlier statement. Nick always uses press releases to brag about its successes, and JTPH3 was significantly absent in Nick's most recent ratings spin. Link: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/060731/nym192.html?.v=50 Also, JTPH2 got less than half of the ratings of JTPH2.
Actually, that headline doesn't mention the third Power Hour at all, so it's not conclusive proof that JTPH3 was a rating flop
- I remember reading the Nielsen ratings for that week. Something about High School Musical, I'll dig it up. Pacific Coast Highway (blah • Snakes on a Plane) 00:24, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- Here they go; No mention in the top ten. Pacific Coast Highway (blah • Snakes on a Plane) 00:44, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
I also am trying to restore this fact, yet someone keeps deleting it. If it's you, Marcus, please stop. I think we can say it's pretty much confirmed. -Jeffaplus
No, we can't. There is no concrete evidence that directly states the episode was a ratings flop. Just drop it alright, it's not nesecary for the integrity of the article. Order_66
Actually, JTPH3 got about half the ratings JTPH2 did. I'd say that qualifies it as a flop. - Ruggles

[edit] A few things
Hey, I'm new at Wikipedia, but I noticed that Sarah Frost wasn't on the list of directors, and I think she deserves to be mentioned. Here's her IMDb page: [1]
Also, there's an episode called "The Good Ol' Days" that I think should be expanded on. The episode has a lot of references to animation from the 1930s. I can't remember the specifics, but I think it's worth noting. I'll have to find the episode and get more information about it. Since I'm new here, I'm going to have to do some reading before I do any editing.
Sorry if this post violates any guidelines or is unprofessional in any way. I'm just trying to add to this article because I'm a big fan of the show. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Checkeredgeek (talk • contribs) 08:01, 22 August 2006 (UTC).
[edit] Seen in other shows?
Cosmo and Wanda made an appearance in the "daydreams" episode of Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. In it, Ned has a daydream in which Cosmo and Wanda grant him a wish to enter Sweedney's class (you may want to see the episode if you don't know what i'm talking about)
Do you know anywhere i can see it? Youtube, perhaps?-ViacomMania
[edit] Simon Starfield
Who is the voice actor for Simon Starfield?
[edit] The Big Superhero Wish
The Big Superhero Wish is NOT a movie. Neither is the Orgin of Denzel Crocker. They are episodes that take up a whole half hour like media related articles information stupor highway and shelf life. Oh yeah, one more thing. Why does the Fairly Odd Parents template at the bottom of the page read School's;Out!;The;Musical now?
I fixed the "Superhero Wish" thing, but "School's out! the musical" doesn't seem to have any typos. It is a movie like the others, though, so it should stay there. -Jeffaplus
[edit] cosmo
does anyone know who did the voice of cosmo before the "main one"
Daran Norris is vouce of Cosno KanuT 00:26, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
yeah but my question is that before FOP became a series (i.e in the oh yeah cartoon era) cosmo has a differnt sounding voice.. it doesnt sound like it was done by the same actor, eg like in the simpsons nancy cartwright did lisa in the tracy ulman show before Y. Smith did it in the main series (would use username but not alowed) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.2.113.39 (talk • contribs) 10:32, September 21, 2006.

- Even if they are correct, a forum is not a verifiable source. If you would like to include the information, please find an official verifiable source which states this airdate. Thanks. Shannernanner 07:01, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] List of Episodes
The list of episodes in the infobox should be combined with the number of episodes. Every other series on wikipedia has the episode number (in this case it is 66) combined with the link to the list of episodes instead of showing the list of episodes next to the number.
Please take this into consideration, other series have this so why shouldn't TFOP? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.47.198.164 (talk • contribs) 21:25, 3 November 2006 (UTC).
- The current format is the current syntax of the television infobox template. As I said on your talk page, if you would like to propose a change, please do so on its talk page rather than changing the individual infobox formats without consensus. Shannernanner 07:01, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sailor Moon?!?
"In the episode in which Timmy first meet the Tooth Fairy, she gives a tiara to him that makes the user unrecognizable, this is obviously a reference of Sailor Moon." How is this a reference to Sailor Moon? She's got a tiara, but so do many other cartoon characters...Kiwi 19:14, 27 Nov 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 2009 Ending?!
I thought is was being canceled like with Jimmy Neutron on the last power hour. Can anyone tell me about this? --ASDFGHJKL 03:09, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Absolutely false. Someone had the desire to vandalise this page by submitting trust-like information regarding continued production. Currently, the show is cancelled! - Cristóbal 18:46, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Quite a lot of the Trivia/Pop Culture dot points don't make any real sense or have very little context.
They definatly need cleaning up but i'm not sure what needs to stay. Any input?
Acctually the show isint cancelled, the correct term is ended production, cancelled means taken from the air, yet it reruns every day!
Someone clameid the show ended in November 2006 but they were some Spongebob fan.Themasterofwiki 19:36, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Pop Culture reference
After watching the Simpsons episode Bart on the Road,I've notice that the name of the toy Martin has is flipsy. That's also the name of the toy Timmy wants.Should we put this in? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by MattMan124 (talk • contribs) 02:24, 22 December 2006 (UTC).
A lot of the Pop Culture references on that page aren't really pop culture references at all. They're actually just gripes at the show mixed in. Someone should edit those out. Something about the show "not being constant" was one of them.
[edit] Complete Seasons on DVD
I believe this information is incorrect, at least for now. I have not found any other information on DVD releases of FOP seasons(not those short DVDs with 10 episodes), can someone verify this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.77.10.205 (talk) 02:00, 24 December 2006 (UTC).

- I'm Crazy 4 U

- The Cosmo Files
- No Parents!

No, Butch Hartman has stated on his forums that he will be releasing new FOP dvds in 2007. (Note he said releasing not making so that means they are old episodes, obiously the season DVDs
[edit] Trivia section
It is getting out of hand, should we just kill the section all together? It's just stuff that either can't be verified, is just painfully obvious or belongs elsewhere. Pacific Coast Highway {talk • contribs} 04:34, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- I don’t think it should be completely deleted, as there is some good trivia. But it does need some serious cleaning out. I think anything that doesn’t have a cited source should be deleted, along with all the stuff that just isn’t trivia anyway. I could do a part of it, I would just need some guidance of what everyone thinks should be deleted. Ideas anyone? Ghosting 07:11, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- The trivia mostly consists of goofs and stuff that would go better in other places, like character articles and episode articles. If things are kept, it should be things about the shows production and general things. Not things about how a tree was moved in one episode or how many times blank did blank. However, there are some things that are useful. Pacific Coast Highway {X's • and O's!} 03:44, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
More than deleting trivia, maybe we should divide it into trivia, cultural reference, and errors and inconstancies, because there are facts for each category.
- We have that now. And we have this problem (now, too). I'm really swaying towards killing the section. It's getting out of hand. Pacific Coast Highway {The internet • runs on Rainbows!} 05:31, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- It's out for now. There's too much gunk and mess t osalvage it. Here is what was there before:
[edit] Trivia
- In the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hours 1, 2, and 3, Timmy would have lost his Fairy Godparents because Timmy shows his Godparents to all the characters in the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hours, but Jimmy and his friends don't know Cosmo and Wanda are fairies.
- In Genie Meenie Minie Mo, Smoof could be a reference to drugs, supported by Norm saying he can't escape from Smoof things, referencing Drug addictions.
- Although it is said in the show that Fairies do not need to breath they still turn blue when strangled, and one episode showed Timmy and Wanda suffocating in space, while Cosmo remained clueless and normal.
- In the first episode, Cosmo's voice is different – he has a much more suave and mature voice, similar to that of a traditional radio announcer's, though he was voiced by Daran Norris then too. Timmy's voice was dubbed for re-running on the show (it was originally an Oh Yeah! Cartoons episode), because he was voiced by Mary Kay Bergman, who had committed suicide in 1999.
- Timmy the Barbarian/No Substitute for Crazy and Fairy Idol both aired in the United Kingdom before the United States.
- Originally, the intended show title was The Fairy Godparents, then Oh My Godparents, before Bill Burnett, the creator of ChalkZone, recommended the title The Fairly OddParents.[1]
- In a few episodes, Timmy is playing a game console called the V-Cube, the name of which sounds like a combination of the Nintendo GameCube and the Xbox. The sound made when he scores a point matches the power-up sound made whenever Mario picks up a power-up in Super Mario Bros.
- Some episodes show the names of the series crew, including the episode "The Crimson Chin Meets Mighty Mom and Dyno Dad," in which a street sign bears the names "Hartman" and "Marmel," the surnames of series creator Butch Hartman and writer Steve Marmel.
- In the episode Fairy Fairy Quite Contrary, one of the first challenges in the Magical Duel is rescuing your godchild from a giant ape, a nod to the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong.
- In the episode "Hard Copy", Dr. Rip Studwell informs Timmy and Wanda that Cosmo has a fairy disease known as dancer (a man dances inside his head), an obvious reference to cancer, which makes him stupid. This is also the episode in which Timmy fights Dark Laser (a spoof of Darth Vader) with his space craft (similar to the Y-Wing from Star Wars). Dr. Rip Studwell is the cartoon version of Butch Hartman. The crew of Fairly Odd Parents added this without his knowledge as an inside joke.
- In "Birthday Wish", when Crocker is hooked onto a helicopter toward the end, he shouts, "Curse you Igor Sikorsky and all your infernal wingless flying machines!". An obvious reference to aviation pioneer Igor Sikorsky.
- When the creators of the show were thinking of how to make Cosmo, they were going to make him a lazy bum, like a crossover between Fred Flinstone and Homer Simpson, and that he would be flying in a chair. But the creators instead made him an idiot. [citation needed]
- There was a reference to Jimmy Neutron in the episode "Sleep Over And Over". Cosmo had seen an ant, and upon seeing it, named it Carl. It got killed by Cosmo's magnifying glass, and soon, Cosmo vowed not to get distracted by anything again. He then saw a bee, and named it Cindy. It got eaten by a hawk. Once again, Cosmo vowed not to get distracted. Soon enough, he saw a cat and named it Jimmy. This could be a shout out to the creators of "Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius" in which Jimmy is friends with Carl and Cindy.
- In the episode "Back to the Norm", it is written on the blueprints of Mr. Crocker's "Arch of Failure" that he is 32 years old. However, in the double-length episode "The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker," it states that thirty years ago (1972), Mr. Crocker was 10 years old. If the age mentioned in "Back to the Norm" is correct, then in "The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker", he should have been only two years old, as opposed to the age of 42 that seems to be logical throughout the rest of the series.
- In the series, it is apparent that the magic clouds that appear when the fairies do magic, stink. It is apparent in 1 episode in particular. The episode, "Sleep Over and Over" when Timmy is poofed into A.J.'s bathroom, where he fans his nose and says "No more seafood for you!". Alternatively, it could be the fact that Timmy had just been poofed from Chester's trailer, which is located in the Dimmsdale dumps.
- The episode The Big Scoop is the same episode of A Wish Too Far(and even uses footage of A Wish Too Far),but the difference is that A Wish Too Far focuses on Timmy, and The Big Scoop focuses on Chester and A.J.
- The episode,"Timmy the Barbarian" is one of the only episodes where you don't see the episode title first, the second one being "Crash Nebula".
- The episode title "Homewreckers" may be based off of Grey DeLisle's song "Home Wrecker".
- In The episode "Mighty Mom and Dyno Dad", Timmy wishes he was "Galactimus, devourer of planets", an homage to Galactus from Marvel Comics. Also, Cosmo and Wanda are made to look like the Silver Surfer.
- The format of the Timmy vs. Vicky shows is very similar to the format used in the Calvin vs. Rosalyn storylines in the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip. Both feature a single male child with a magical friend(s) that nobody else knows about. Both have parents who leave them at home with "evil" babysitters so they can go do things by themselves. Both feature stories in which the child rebels against the babysitter's rules with the magical friend(')s(') help. Both babysitters are very money hungry. The differences: Calvin's behavior usually brings on Rosalyn's wrath, Timmy is usually innocent, Calvin's parents are not as neglectful as Timmy's, Hobbes doesn't have any magic powers other than he appears to be alive when he and Calvin are alone, and Rosalyn is not evil as Vicky is.
- In the episode Class Clown, Cosmo gets hit by a tree, and laughs similarly to Woody Woodpecker. Obviously the very reference to Woody Woodpecker.
- In the episode "Presto Change-O", when Timmy as his own mom swaps bodies with Vicky, Timmy's mom starts off in her dancing clothes but when Vicky yells out she is in her every day clothes.
- Cosmo, Wanda, and Timmy can be thought to represent Freud's three parts of personality. Cosmo is impulsive and stupid (less conscious), Wanda acts as an extension of Timmy's conscience and is a parental figure, and Timmy makes decisions based on input from the two. He also only speaks at length with them in private, which alludes to thought being solitary.
- In a Nick Magazine comic it was revealed that Cosmo's middle name is Julius.
- In episode Something's Fishy!, when Greg says "Our diet consists of starfish, crabs and the occasional undersea squirrel", this quote is a nod to Patrick Star, Mr. Krabs and Sandy Cheeks from Spongebob Squarepants.
- In Lights, Camera, Adam!, the name on the script is a spoof of Frank Capra, being Frank Knee Capra.
- In the episodes "Timvisible", "Microphony", "Shelf Life", and "School's Out: The Musical", Timmy has finished school. This fact suggests that Timmy is 14 years old and is either in the Eighth or Ninth Grade.
- In the episode "Timvisible" when Cosmo and Wanda are in the spanish room the teacher says in spanish "Where is the Goverment's cheese", then later edited to "Where is the stinky cheese".

ive noticed that timmy has lost his baby teeth twice.. the first time is the "the zappys" oh yeah short, another is in the one where jorgan von strangle gets engaged to the tooth fairy.. i dunno if its worth noting as i know the oh yeah cartoons might have changes from the mainstreem cartoons 82.24.175.199 01:10, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Original research
I've just deleted the "Settings" section as original research. It was basically all speculations about where in the USA Dimmsdale may be, based on clues in the show. Our article about Dimmsdale places it in Imperial County, California, so I don't see the point in a paragraph in this article about where it might be. -GTBacchus(talk) 04:39, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
