Is it worth noting that there are two different versions of the song out there?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.153.243.180 (talk • contribs).

  • It may already be there, but what two versions are you talking about? When did the second version appear? Also, remember to sign comments using three or four tildes (~~~~) Thank you. 216.37.227.92 00:59, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
    • Maybe he's referring to the version on the Apocalypse Now soundtrack, which excises some parts of the song, including the spoken word middle. Spartacusprime 19:42, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

There are several versions of this song that have been released by The Doors and other audience recordings in circulation. Jim Morrison generally improvised the lyrics while performing The End. There is only one studio recorded version.

[edit] Bass Line

I-V-VIII? VIII is not used in music theory. If this is supposed to be an octave higher than I it is still I, or perhaps it is a typo for VII.

  • The Doors could play an VIII with their amps cranked up to 11. 64.66.67.161 18:29, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Haha very funny. no but i just listened to this song, it is I-V-I-V etc., so i changed the article. Trobert 20:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

"Blue Bus" was most likely referring to 10 mg blue numorphan tabs - at the time a popular drug nicknamed the "Blue Bus". Similar to Vicodin in effect.
