If my memory doesn't fail me (and I was a little kid at the time so it might) there was a movie too.

Not sure about any theatrical release, but they certainly were a TV series (and apparently they had a Xmas special made-for-TV movie). - IstvanWolf 07:01, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
