[edit] Plot

The first day of Autumn has arrived; to Winnie-the-Pooh its another fun filled season to be with his very best friend Christopher Robin. However, he is no where to be found, which causes Pooh to worry what happened to him. After finding a (sticky) note revealing his whereabouts, Pooh and his friends misinterpret the note as a desparate cry for help, and set out on an adventurous journey to rescue their young friend, as bad luck has set upon the wood. Along the way, Piglet must find his courage, Tigger must re-discover his bounciness, and Rabbit must find his true intelligence.

[edit] Trivia

  • This movie was one of the last times Paul Winchell would voice the character of Tigger.
  • Although not part of the video series, the original 1997 video copies of this film feature the Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection logo before the film, which might have been an editing mistake, since this movie is a direct-to-video film. However this could be wrong, as the cover for the European versions has the print logo too.
  • When it came out, analysts and parents criticized the film, claiming that all of the mild horror content (such as the long fall into the muddy marsh, the biting plants in the forest of thorns, the monsters in the map/quest scene, and the spills and chills in the skull cave) was not suitable for young children.
  • Kanga, Gopher and Roo are absent in this film.
  • The note Christopher Robin writes to Pooh on the Honey Pot reads: "Dear Pooh: Don't worry about me. I'm not going far away; just to school. Be back this afternoon. Help yourself to this honey. Christopher Robin". Owl interprets the note like this: "Dear Pooh: Don't worry about me. I'm not going far away; just to school. Be back this afternoon. Help yourself to this honey. Christopher Robin".

The crossed out words were covered with honey, and Owl pronounced "school" as "skull".

  • The tree where Pooh sings Wherever You Are looks suspiciously like the same tree where he and Christopher Robin hang out at the beginning and the end of the film, as it overlooks a soil cliff.
  • The final lines in the film with Christopher Robin and Pooh on the tree are recycled from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and the book the quotes originally came from, The House at Pooh Corner.

[edit] Quotes

  • Owl (gasps): He [Christopher Robin] has gone to S-C-H-O-O-L...skull!
    Pooh: Skull?
  • Tigger (as Piglet is hanging perilously from the top of a cracked limb on his beech tree): There's no difference between falling 10,000 feet to the jagged rocks below, and... tumblin' out of bed.
Piglet (opens his eyes and smiles in relief): Oh, really?
Tigger: Sure... well, except for the splat at the end that's practically similar.
    Piglet (becomes fearful again):CHRISTOPHER ROOOOOBINNNNNNNN!!!!!!
  • Christopher Robin: You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
  • Tigger (as he is hanging for dear life on an unsteady tree limb wedged in a deep gorge, seeing Pooh dangling down to rescue him): Look at the biceps on that bear! I don't deserve to dangle from the same precipice!
