[edit] Plot
The episode opens with Krista returning to the House of Chthon hotel. Marcus asks her where she's been for the last 36 hours, and then tells her that Charlotte attempted to turn Chase against him and that he was worried Charlotte had gotten to her, too. He tells Krista that Charlotte won't be a problem any longer.
Charlotte and Thorne are on the plane headed back to Europe, and Charlotte muses about whether or not Marcus will ever deliver Aurora. Charlotte takes Blade's broken sword out of its case, then she hears the unmistakable beeping of a bomb timer. The scene shifts to outside, where a couple is hiking in a wooded area, then look up to see Charlotte's plane explode. They go to the area to investigate only to be drained and killed by Charlotte and Thorne, the only survivors of the crash.
Back at Blade's warehouse, Agent Collins breaks in and is captured by Blade and Shen. He tells them that he's looking for answers about Krista and about what he's seen. Blade tells him that he should leave, that he shouldn't get involved, especially since he's wearing a wedding ring and has a family that cares about him. Krista calls from a payphone and tells Blade about Charlotte's plane, Blade wants to find the wreckage to get information about the pureblood conclave that Marcus is planning. Blade tells Shen to get the info on the downed plane, while Shen protests that it would be next to impossible. Agent Collins tells Blade that he can find the plane in a few minutes with the FBI's computer tracking system, but he'll only help if he can go with Blade to investigate.
Marcus and Krista meet in his office, where he tells her that he wants her to help him convince his architect, Tucker Moffett, that the building for the upcoming conclave must be completed on schedule. Marcus then seduces Krista in his office. Blade and Agent Collins arrive at the wreckage site and begin looking for information. They find a briefcase and laptop, when Blade stops and smells blood, he surprises Collins by revealing his fangs. Collins asks if he's a vampire too. "Half" replies Blade, "still glad you came along?" They find the bodies of the two hikers and Blade realizes there were crash survivors because someone had fed on the bodies. Blade and Collins start tracking Charlotte and Thorne, who have reached the outskirts of a small town. Blade asks why Collins wants to be involved, and he tells Blade his story, about how a serial killer murdered his family and how he made sure the killer didn't make it to trial. Blade and Collins track Charlotte to the town and find that Charlotte and Thorne have murdered a school full of people. Some of the bodies are reawakening and looking for blood. Collins is injured by a turned school teacher and decides to stay and be bait for the rest of the turned victims while Blade hunts down Charlotte and Thorne.
Meanwhile, Marcus meets with Tucker. He wants the A/C system static pressure boosted up in the conclave meeting area. The architect is tells Marcus that the A/C system is fine as is and that the building is too old for a newer system. Krista interjects that this isn't a negotiation. Tucker tells Marcus he doesn't respond to threats and says that if Marcus isn't happy, he will quit the project. He tells Marcus to try and find someone who is as good of an architect as he is; he's worked too hard to be treated like a shoeshine boy. Marcus offers Tucker all the money and manpower he needs to get the building ready on time. He tells Tucker that if, even after he provides everything Tucker needs and the building is not ready on time, he will kill everyone that Tucker has ever loved. Marcus then snaps Tucker's assistant's neck to prove his point. He says that even if Tucker isn't replaceable, everyone around him is, and he introduces Tucker to his new assistant. When the architect leaves, Marcus instructs Krista to dispose of the body, but she hesitates, stunned by Marcus' cruelty. Chase says she'll do it, as she always has. While getting the body off the floor, she spots Isabel's locket around Krista's neck, and realizes all of its implications.
Meanwhile, Blade tries to stem the flow of blood from Collins wound, but he tells him that it's the femoral artery. Collins insists that Blade find Charlotte and Thorne without him, so he gives Collins some weapons, and sets off to find them. The other turned victims awaken and find Collins in the cafeteria, where he sets off two UV bombs, destroying them. Collins then follows Blade, who has found Charlotte and Thorne. Blade and Thorne fight, as Collins runs after Charlotte. He finds her in a stairwell, where she convinces him she's a kid from the school. Blade manages to ash Thorne with two silver spikes to the head, but by the time he catches up to Collins, Charlotte has already ripped open his throat. Charlotte tries to make a deal with Blade - allow her to reach the conclave and she would broker a deal with the 12 houses to get him accepted and give him a home, to lay down his arms. She tells Blade that she can help his many talents flower. He tells Charlotte that the offer sounds pretty good, but his only talent is killing vampires just before killing her with a UV Glaive. Blade goes to Collins and tells him to hold on, that they would get out of there. Collins tells Blade to kill him, that he promised he would. Collins thanks Blade for allowing him to kill a few monsters before he died. Reluctantly, Blade puts a silver spike through his heart.
While Krista is taking a shower, she has flashbacks of Marcus giving her Isabel's locket while they're having sex. Then, she flashes back to him snapping the assistant's neck. Krista finishes her shower and towels off, only to find that Chase has let herself into Krista's room and was waiting for her. Krista asks what she wants and Chase tells her that she understands why Marcus is attracted to her. Chase tells Krista when she looks at her, she sees nothing, except a hollow little girl playing hollow little games. Chase tells Krista that the locket she is wearing is the only thing of substance, but that it didn't even belong to her. Krista responds by saying, "It does now." Chase tells her that at least she has the grace to accept one of the many gifts offered to her recently. She mentions that she's extended her friendship to Krista and that she should accept it. Krista asks if she really wants to be friends or just wants her man back, and Chase tells her that it's up to her. Chase tells Krista that she wouldn't want Chase as an enemy. Krista sarcastically asks if she can get back to Chase on that. Chase tells Krista not to think on it too long because the next few days would be critical due to all the plans in motion.
