[edit] Notes

Cover art by Steven R. Gilmore.

The photo on the cover was taken by Steven Gilmore from a really bad porno that happened to come on TV in a hotel in New York.

Due to this album's cover with nudity, it was placed on Tipper Gore's list for the PMRC (Parent's Music Resource Center). It was held as an example as to why there should be stickers on albums even though it was released before this came about.

The CD was not released until 1988, so it includes some material that postdates the album as bonus tracks. "Chainsaw" and "Stairs and Flowers (Too Far Gone)" (incorrectly listed as "Stairs and Flowers (Dub)") are taken from the 1987 Chainsaw EP. "Addiction (2nd Dose)" and "Deep Down Trauma Hounds (Remix)" are incorrectly listed as "Addiction" and "Deepdown Trama Hounds" on the CD release, respectively. These are taken from the 1987 Addiction single.

On the original vinyl LP, after the song "Burnt with Water" there is a locked groove on the run off groove. It will endlessly repeat "Amen, Lord hear my prayer" until the tone arm is picked up. This will not work with semi or fully automatic turntables, as the tone arm automatically picks up when it reaches the run off groove. Only manual turntables will allow you to hear it as the listener has to manually grab the tone arm and return it. This is not just a flaw on the record, it is far up on the run off groove (closest to the label as you can get) and placed there intentionally.
