Light vs. Dark: The Two Faces of Gaara! (Japanese: 光と闇 我愛羅という名 - Hikari to Yami Gaara to iu na) is episode 77 of the anime series Naruto. The episode's storyline is from the Invasion of Konoha manga arc.

Gaara continues to remember about his past and of his betrayal by his uncle Yashamaru who tried to kill him. His uncle tells Gaara that his mother left him as a curse to the village she hated for using her as a human sacrifice, contradicting everything he said to him about his mother's love for him in the previous episode. Before blowing his dying self up he tells Gaara he has always hated him. The sand protects Gaara from the explosion and then carves the tattoo for "love" above his eye. When Gaara states that Naruto can't become stronger until he starts fighting against everyone, Naruto recalls that if he didn't meet his friends, he would be the same as Gaara. Realizing that he has to protect his friends, Naruto overcomes his fear and decides to take on Gaara, who continues to transform further into his Shukaku form. Naruto attempts to summon Gamabunta, but instead manages to summon only Gamakichi. Naruto reflects on how he understands Gaara's pain. The episode ends with Naruto suddenly feeling very motivated, deciding that he must beat Gaara at all costs.
Meanwhile, the fight between Orochimaru and the Third Hokage continues.
