Simon Reeve (host): "It's a large hammerhead shark, and it's still circling the swimmers. There could be more in the area."

Sargeant Kym Kramer: "It might be in a feeding state, so... because of all the swimmers here, it does give us a threat."

Senior Constable Glenn Bott: "Unfortunately, it's pretty much in the centre of the race at the moment, so... we can't see it from the vessels, but the guys in the helicopter obviously can look from above down into the water and can see it."
