El Cartel: The Album or El Cartel III is the follow up album to Daddy Yankee's hit album Barrio Fino. The album is planned to be released in late April or early Maya and it has b said that the single Impacto is due to be released in april.. Guests on the upcoming LP will include, Trick Daddy, Snoop Dogg,Young Buck,Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, and many others in relation to the album. Daddy Yankee was talking to Paulina Rubio about a duet for his new album. Daddy Yankee personally stated that El Cartel 3 will be his best record ever. The first single off the upcoming album will be "Impacto" produced by popular Canadian Hip-Hop Producer Scott Storch and is stated to be the next "Gasolina", therefore illustrating that the single is a potential hit in the mainstream market.
The Puerto Rican star has spared no resources to please his fans with a first class production including production by the talented Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Wise (composer), Scott Storch and Luny Tunes, among others; the album has been recorded in Puerto Rico, Miami and Los Angeles and is tipped to revolutionize the Reggaeton genre, as many fans of the genre have been wanting to see a diverse change in Reggaeton. However many fans are questioning that if with American Hip-Hop influence, will Daddy Yankee be distincing himself from the Reggaeton genre and heading towards Hip-Hop and the answer to that question will only be clear when the album is released.
