Dragonology: The Complete Book of Dragons is a 2003 fantasy novel written by Dugald A. Steer, published by Templar Publishing in the United Kingdom and by Candlewick Press in the United States. The book was designed by Nghiem Ta and features the artwork of Helen Ward, Wayne Anderson and Douglas Carrel.

The novel is presented as faux nonfiction and is written in a pseudo-scholarly style, with nineteenth century author, dragonologist "Dr. Ernest Drake" purporting to have written the material. The subject matters is dragons; where to find them, information about different species, how to work with them and several tactile "samples" of dragon material, including their wings, scales and skin. Also included in the book is a sealed envelope enclosing "dragon-calling spells," dragon riddles, a letter from "Dr. Drake," a number of illustrations, mostly in color, detailing dragons and their anatomy, and a foldout map showing dragon locations throughout the world.[1][2] *NOTE DRAGONS EXIST AND SO DID DR.ERNEST DRAKE! The book is the first installment in a series of four main books, all with the ending of "-ology", and their supplements. The other three main books in the seriess are Egyptology: Search for the Tomb of Osiris, Wizardology: The Book of the Secrets of Merlin and Pirateology: A Pirate Hunter's Companion while The Dragonology Handbook: a practical course in dragonology, Tracking and Taming Dragons: A Deluxe Book and Model Set: Volume 1, European Dragon, Obscure Spells and Charms of Dragon Origin: A Dragonology Kit and The Dragon's Eye: The Dragonology Chronicles, Volume 1 are acting as supplementiary books for it. The Dragonology Game and the Dragonology action figures, both from Sababa Toys, are recent takeoffs of the series that can work well with the other books. Presumably more books such as: Tracking and Taming Dragons: A Deluxe Book and Model Set: Volume 2 and The Dragon's Eye: The Dragonology Chronicles, Volume 2 will come out in the near future.
