[edit] Plot

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The episode opens with Blade busting into the office of the obstetrician that Shen tracked down from Marcus' abandoned laboratory. Dr. Vonner, upon seeing Blade storm in on closed circuit TV, pulls out a gun and commits suicide. With the police coming, Blade has no time to take the doctor's records and ends up jumping out of a window to avoid the cops. As he is talking to Shen on the street, Blade is struck by a large truck that was aiming for him. Knocked out, Blade is scooped up by several men dressed completely in black, including masks and face shields. Shen suspects the men are vampires.

Meanwhile, Krista is sitting in a diner when she notices a newspaper article with a picture of Detective Boone on it. She then learns that Boone survived being bitten by her and is now on a cross country killing spree. Upset, she returns to the hotel and tries to decide how to tell Marcus what's happening.

Blade awakens in a warehouse where he is chained to the wall. Father Carlyle appears before Blade and tells him that he's there to negotiate for Blade's release. Blade tells him to hurry up, and then gets a surprise when the Father reveals that he's there to negotiate with Blade. He had Blade kidnapped by four men from Blade's past, who the Father says he has reached out to. He wants Blade to stop killing vampires and find a more peaceful solution to the "war". Blade, upset at the betrayal, informs the priest that the men helping him are not his friends, that they were strictly looking to find Blade. To prove him right, the leader of the men, a gangster named Steppin' Razor, kills Father Carlyle. Steppin' Razor and the others were members of a street gang that took Blade in when Blade's father left him.

Back at the hotel, Krista is confronted by Chase and Marcus, who tell her that she failed to kill Boone and that he turned and is now causing trouble for the House of Chthon with his killing spree. Marcus orders Chase to track Boone down and kill him. It is revealed that if a vampire doesn't drain all the blood out of someone they are feeding on, that person will be turned. Chase tells Krista to pack a bag, that they are heading to Oregon to visit the House of Leichen. The Leichens can perform a ceremony that will help Krista find Boone through her connection to him, since she turned him. Confused and upset, Krista decides to try and find Blade first to see what she should do. Finding Shen about to destroy Blade's warehouse, Krista tells him what's happening. As Shen is packing up, Krista listens to the tape of Blade's kidnapping, on which she can hear vampires speaking (due to her enhanced hearing). She gives Shen some clues as to who has Blade.

Steppin' Razor continues to torture Blade and deny him blood and serum, forcing Blade's thirst to take hold and weaken him. Steppin' Razor reveals some of Blade's past. Blade was taken in by the Bad Bloods gang, who gave him a home and presumably helped him feed. One night, as they were tattooing a new member, Blade's thirst overcame him and he attacked the other gang members, turning them. Since they were turned by the Daywalker, no vampire house would accept them into it. With no home and nowhere to go, they decided to kidnap Blade and trade him to the House of Cththon in exchange for a place to exist. Steppin' Razor visits Marcus at the hotel, where he strikes a deal - he delivers Blade to Marcus, and the House of Chthon accepts the Bad Bloods into it.

Meanwhile, Shen tracks down a member of the Bad Bloods who escaped the night Blade attacked the others. He tells Shen where to find the gang, but warns him not to go there because of what he saw happen. Shen goes anyway, where he finds Blade weak and about to be skinned alive by Steppin' Razor, who wants to cut off all of Blade's tattoos. Shen shoots Blade with darts containing serum, which revives Blade. A fight ensues, with Blade killing all the Bad Bloods except for Steppin' Razor, who escapes after badly beating Shen. When Marcus arrives to collect Blade, all he finds is vampire ash and Blade's broken sword, which is pinned to the wall with a note on it that reads "Suck Me". Shen tells Blade of Krista's predicament, and they decide to try and help her.

Krista and Chase have flown to Oregon, where they go to the House of Leichen. The Leichens are vampires that have sworn off of killing humans, and drink only cloned blood. They believe that murdering to feed is wrong and pollutes vampires. Krista is introduced to Chase's ex-husband, Frederick, the vampire who turned Chase. Prior to the blood ritual, Chase and Krista must undergo dialysis to "purify" their blood. Krista will be immersed in a pool of blood, where she will be connected to Detective Boone and will see what he is seeing. At the end of the episode, Krista is stepping naked into the pool of blood.

At the same time, Agent Collins teams up with Detective Dibbs, who was Detective Boone's ex-partner. They search Boone's house, where they find various books and literature about vampires in a locked case. They also find a stack of Boone's unsolved cases, including the murder of Zach Starr and the disappearance of Krista. They decide to try and find Krista to see what happened to her brother.
