"Angels and Demons" is the ninth episode of the first season of the television show Blade: The Series.

The episode opens with Blade and Shen in the warehouse as Shen's friend at the CDC arrives with the results of her tests on the liquid taken from Vanessa's womb. She tells Blade that the liquid is a virus meant to target Pureblood vampires and that incubating it in human wombs helped to ensure it wouldn't affect humans. Shen is amused that both Blade and Marcus are attempting to wipe out the Purebloods. He makes a comment that enemy of my enemy is my friend. Shen wonders if there's going to be a Pureblood gathering where Marcus will release the virus, and if Krista will be invited. Blade tells Shen to find Krista so he can ask, and Shen reveals that he's had people looking for days and no one has seen her.
Meanwhile, Chase and Marcus discuss the results of the Aurora test, and Marcus tells her it's a total success. Chase then reveals that the crazed woman who burst into the hotel a few days back and then killed the disposal team was Krista's mother. Upset, Marcus orders Chase to retrieve Krista alive and return her to the hotel. Chase protests, insisting that it's better to kill Krista, but Marcus insists Krista be returned safely. Chase also mentions that Damek is coming to see Marcus.
Krista is drinking by herself in a club, and is haunted by the images of her dead mother, brother, and Uncle. She hallucinates that her mother is telling her that it's all her fault that they're dead. A man comes up and hits on her. When she rebuffs him, he gets aggressive. Krista grabs him and twists his arm behind his back and slams him on the bar, then shoves him away. He calls Krista a crazy bitch and staggers away. Later, outside the club, she sees the same man forcing himself on a woman in the alley behind the club. The woman is screaming for him to stop, and Krista grabs the guy by his pants, throwing him up on top of a barbed wire fence. She tells the woman to leave, then she looks at the man and tells him to die. She starts climbing the fence and is about to kill him and feed when Chase pulls up, ordering her into the car. Once back at the hotel, she's brought to Marcus' office. Chase informs him that she found Krista in a dirty alley rummaging for a midnight snack. Marcus notices that Krista has been drinking, to which Krista replies, "Obviously not enough." She tells Marcus that she's lost everything and that he's given her a world of nothing. She slaps Marcus hard across the face. Marcus, in a rage, grabs Krista and throws her across the room. Crouching on Krista's back and touching his fingers to the cut on his face inflicted by Krista, he wipes the blood across her lips, which triggers a vision of his torture when he was turned. He tells Krista that she isn't the only vampire who's ever felt pain. He orders Chase to get Krista to her room and clean her up.
Blade and Shen hear that Krista's back at the hotel and decide to try and break in via the same sewer system that Krista used to access the Chthon lab. As they reach the point where Krista got in, they find that Marcus has had it bricked up, and had shock sensors put on the wall to alert them if there was an intruder. Shen decides to try and tap into the hotel security system instead. As he is tapping into the feeds, he is interrupted by a guard, whom Blade kills. Shen finishes up and they head back to the warehouse to see what they can find out about Krista.
In the hotel, Krista awakens in her room tied to the bed. Marcus appears and she relays her anger about losing her whole family and she tells Marcus that she has no one left. Marcus tells her that she has a new family. He tells her that even though she may want to kill him, they will always share an eternal bond because his blood flows in her veins and that nothing will take that away. He reminds Krista that she knows him more intimately than she thinks and that the blood connection will show her his past. She then falls into a trance and a flashback begins of Marcus, when he arrived in Detroit in 1899 with his wife, Isabel. He is an immigrant from London, with high hopes for the future. Desiring to start a business together, he and Isabel rent a building and begin to set up a general store. As they are preparing to open up, they are visited by Damek, who attempts to extort protection money from Marcus. Marcus refuses to pay, and Damek warns him to reconsider by the time he pays another visit.
Elsewhere, Charlotte and her bodyguard Thorne are discussing Glynnis, who has not checked in yet. Charlotte, assuming that Glynnis is dead, reveals that Marcus can't be trusted, nor can Krista. She tells Thorne that she wants him to bring her "the girl".
Agent Collins is being picked up by his boss, when he notices a glyph tattooed on his boss' wrist. He overpowers him, smashing his head through the passenger window of his car, knocking him out. He takes the other man's gun and runs off. He later winds up at the house of a medical examiner who was checking out the remains of the Armayans that were found in the delivery truck when Detective Boone escaped and ashes them. Collins tells her what he knows, and she reveals that Blade may be able to help him.
We see more of Krista's visions of Marcus. Damek comes to visit Marcus again, insisting that Marcus pay him protection money. Marcus again refuses, and Damek makes a sarcastic comment to his underlings that they better watch it because Marcus is armed with a broom. They knock Marcus to the floor, and proceed to knock items from the shelves. Damek leaves again. Later, as Marcus is resting in bed and Isabel is getting him something to drink, Damek and his underlings enter the room. Damek grabs Marcus' wife Isabel, while his underlings grab Marcus and hold him down. Damek tells Marcus if he won't pay, his wife will. He bends Isabel over a table, bites her, then rapes her and begins draining her as a horrified Marcus is forced to watch. Marcus tells Damek he's a monster and that he will never pay and would prefer death. Damek replies, "Death just chose you, shop keep." Damek then has a traumatized and badly beaten Marcus boxed up in a wooden coffin and taken outside of Detroit. The coffin is shown later, opened by a group of savage vampire Indians, who have Marcus strung up as they are bleeding him.
Krista appears to wake from her trance-like state to discover that she's no longer tied to the bed. She gets up and thinks she sees a wolf by her door, so she follows it and wonders what it's going to show her. Blade and Shen are watching Krista via the feeds and notice that she appears drunk or in a trance.
Damek arrives and meets with Marcus, who is longingly regarding the locket that belonged to his lost wife Isabel. Marcus asks Damek why he brought a bodyguard, and Damek orders the guard to wait downstairs for him. He tells Marcus that he's there to renegotiate and that he wants a cut of everything that the House of Chthon is invested in. Marcus refuses, and Damek tells him that he's a Pureblood, and that he can take whatever he wants. Marcus, finally having his fill of Damek, turns and attacks him. They fight furiously, and Marcus reveals that 100 years earlier, Damek "took everything" from him by murdering his wife. They battle until Marcus burns Damek badly in a fireplace, before being stabbed with a fireplace poker. After messily removing the poker from his chest, Marcus gets a hold of a tomahawk, which he was holding earlier when Krista assaulted him. Damek laughs, taunting Marcus. He tells Marcus that with all the people he has killed and all the women he's had, he doesn't even remember Isabel, and calls her a whore. An infuriated Marcus tells Damek that he remembers and brings the tomahawk down on Damek's face, ashing him.
Chase and Krista arrive at Marcus' office and find him badly wounded after killing Damek. He orders Chase to go downstairs and kill Damek's bodyguard. Krista tells Marcus that she knows what happened to him just before he was turned. She knows about the pain he suffered and the pain of being alone. He tells Krista that those things happen, like with her and her mother, and that she doesn't have to be alone. Krista helps Marcus back to his room.
Blade and Shen are still monitoring Krista's movements, when they see her holding on to a wounded Marcus and entering his room. Security men cut off Shen's feeds just as Krista enters Marcus' room. Blade storms out to see for himself what is going on at Chthon.
In Marcus' bedroom, Krista starts to gently wipe Marcus off and starts to undress him while he's lying on his bed. She finally gives in to her strong attraction to Marcus and starts kissing him. Marcus and Krista finally indulge in sex and share blood while Blade watches from a nearby roof. Chase meets Damek's bodyguard outside, and with one sweeping kick across his throat, ashes him, only to be struck hard and rendered unconscious by Thorne, who drags Chase away with him on Charlotte's orders.
