That they all may be one is a phrase that forms the basis of several ecumenical movements and united and uniting denominational traditions.
It is also a common sermon topic on church unity.
John 17:21 is a verse from the Bible. The verse says: That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me"
"That they all may be one" is the official motto of the Church of South India . The United Church of Christ has the same motto except for a change in the place of one word: "That they may all be one."
