This user is currently on a Wikibreak and is re-evaluating his social role on the Internet, including Wikipedia
I am currently reviewing all my social roles on the Internet. I have decided to take a (not strictly enforced) Wikibreak for the time being. Edits on my talk page may have a delay in being responded to.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Gareth and this is my home user page. I believe in the freedom that Wikipedia offers, the flexibility and ease of editing and creation of new articles that attracted me to become a member of Wikipedia. I tend to stick to editing articles because any new articles I have created either get speedy deleted or merged after a while (please discuss or give guidance on the talk page). Note: with the exception of major new TV/Radio channel launches, I will now request all new artlcles via Wikipedia:Requested articles. I generally keep to the media, especially television and radio, as well as the computing articles of Wikipedia. I do occasionally keep an eye out for vandalised articles and revert them to the previous untouched version of that article. Believe it or not, it took me about 16 hours on and off to learn enough HTML and Wikitext to get the web design of the user pages looking as they do now (of this and the previous look). The basic idea for my user pages was to keep them simple, although it may look pretty in a number of shades of blue and black, the underlying purpose of the pages are to make finding out about me and my contributions to Wikipedia easy. They are also designed to look virtually the same regardless of which browser you use, so the concept of fairness to everyone who sees my user pages has also been applied in the design.
